I’m late to the viewership, so I know there is a good chance you won’t see this message. Firstly, I love your videos. Second, apologies for long post.

I have a major dust problem I cannot figure out how to tackle. I currently live in my childhood home with my parents. It’s a one-story, fairly large dwelling that gets caked in dust constantly. A lot of the problem is the wall-to-wall carpeting. We never open windows because we have no screens. We don’t have much furniture per room, but we have a ton of clutter I can’t get them to move or let go of. I straighten and clean and dust and one hour later my work is invisible because it’s a dusty mess all over again.

My grandmother lived in an 8-bedroom, 2-floor house before she sold it. When she moved in with us, all her stuff—except for the big furniture-came too. We have had her 200 plus boxes for 4 years. She moved too far for us to send her stuff, then she passed away. Add to that, my grandmother had us store my aunt’s stuff too, after she moved away as well. We have had her stuff over 2 years, and she just passed away last month. We now have 250 boxes/large items of things that aren’t ours and that we don’t have an attachment to or need. And I have to clean around all of it!

Dust in this house is an absolute nightmare. I can’t reach any of my ceilings to clean the light fixtures and fans. Can’t dust any shelves without taking everything off and risking it gets broken because someone might step on it trying to avoid a box. Our natural wood furniture is painted in double layered dust all the time. Especially the suite in my bedroom. I can spend two hours dusting every surface in my room and by the time I’m done the whole space, the first thing I cleaned has a layer of new dust! My eyes burn all the time in my house and my nose is often dry too. I clean with microfiber, with Swiffer dusters, with dryer sheets, with damp cloths, and with a vacuum. Nothing matters. Same outcome every time.

Aside from moving all the boxes, what can I do to lessen the dust? Or at least, what can I do to keep the dust off the furniture longer? I’m at my wit’s end.

Please help me, Angela.

Big respect to cleaners. It's one of the things most people hate dealing with but is one of the most important things ever. Thank you!

@Tradebear

You can tell when someone REALLY knows their craft. I've learned SO much from A. Brown's channel. She gets to the why, then the prevention, then the 'how'...how to clean it all plus I think it's her delivery and the way she speaks, it's clear, concise and to the point 🙂
