Once in a really rough PE class I saw the curtains coming down and I took the opportunity to sit down against a wall. I could hear people ask me if I was OK, I told them I couldn't see anything, and they said to lie down with my knees bent up. Ah youth... ten minutes later I was up and playing again.

@SOHRAB CH actually people can faint in different ways. First she was experiencing the onset of hypoxia which is what usually causes fainting. She first slurred her speech. She also experienced a panic from what her body and brain was experiencing and THEN she fainted. Not all fainting spells occur the same. Even so ..it's not anyone's business why she fainted, actually. Her medical information and status should be just as private as anyone else. But people feel we are owed that knowledge of celebrities. yeah I know I fainted as well once because of a high fever that I've had but I don't remember a horrified look on my face all I know is that I felt dizzy and then it felt like the lights were turned off even tho I was still awake and had my eyes open and then apparently I was on the ground which I don't remember happening at all. But it was never this horrified look on my face it just felt like my body turned off while I was standing.

This makes so much more sense today in 2023 looking back at it with perspective. Truly sadder than I thought it was originally. Back then, I remember being mystified by it and alarmed. But what was more frightening than anything was the fact that the show seemed to brush it aside and move on so fast as though It was a normal scene around there and she didn’t just literally collapse and pass out on live television……
It’s like, oops sorry.. the warm weather and tight costume produced a little inconvenience. Moving along…..
Now I understand why they weren’t so freaked out by it tho and didn’t seemed concerned about legit health scares or something. An unknown circumstance verses a contributed pattern is much different and helps explain this ability to go on so effectively. Although; it certainly puts a spotlight on the producers and executives working at the studio and network a little more and how greed, selfishness, and denial from those around her left it sheltered and swept under the rug, for god knows how long, in order for her to get out there every week day and keep the money flowing.
Wonderful.
It’s one thing that it’s a crappy thing to do to ANYONE…….. it’s even worse when it’s someone 60+ years old with a known history to substance abuse, that reached fainting status and all, protected this as it escalated. All to exploit money and financial gain. Now it seems that the only thing crazier about this and Wendy’s behaviors — are the executives and studio heads that were in business with her. What’s wrong with them!?

Stage lights emit huge amounts of heat. That plus the full body probably unbreathable costume and wig... heat stroke most likely. I’ve seen people have seizures, faint, cardiac arrest, and an aneurysm at my work... everybody is different in how they react but not everyone is around every time someone has one of these episodes

Jess Ramirez only hallucingen i know thats strong enough to cause dull blown visions is DMT but it only lasts 5-10 minutes and you completely teleport to another universe so to speak so it'd be impossible to do a show + her show last longer then 10 minutes id say and she fainted near the end.

Pretty sure she was using drugs because she admitted that she was hooked to drugs again and that can make your body heat up really fast depending on what drugs she was using
