Feeling fine

And the show's all ages
So hey ho now let's go
We've been up all night,
Drinking and fighting
To the sound of rock 'n roll
You bring the car,
And we'll wake up
With all our money spent.
I'll buy a guitar
And you can come as you are
Now it's time to hit the road
Cause I'm feeling frustrated
And I'm tired of waiting
And doing what I'm told.
This is the first day of my life.
And I know nothing's ever felt as right.
I'm feeling fine
And I know where I am going
I know where I have been.
The times are changing
But the feeling's the same
As it was so long ago
And right from the start
We only played from the heart
And let it take us where we'll go.
I feel the music make me sweat.
The only question's how high can I get?
I'm feeling fine
And I know where I am going
I know where I have been.
There are no stages
And the show's all ages
So hey ho now let's go
We've been up all night,
Drinking and fighting
To the sound of rock 'n roll
For once in my life
I got the feel of something
For once in my life
I'm feeling fine
And I know where I am going
I know where I have been.
The lyrics to Whippersnapper's song Feeling Fine are about the joy of living in the moment, being free and following one's heart. The first verse describes a night of drinking and fighting to the sound of rock 'n roll, emphasizing the spontaneity and energy of youth. The singer invites their friend to come along for the ride, promising a carefree adventure. They feel frustrated and tired of conforming to expectations, and express a desire to break free and chart their own path. The chorus asserts the singer's confidence in their direction in life, proclaiming that they know where they're going and where they've been, and that they're feeling fine. The second verse emphasizes the timeless quality of rock music and the importance of playing from the heart. The singer feels the music viscerally and seeks to push the boundaries of their own experience, asking "how high can I get?" The final chorus celebrates the newfound feeling of being alive and following one's own impulses, expressing gratitude for the moment.
