As an Egyptian, it was painful for me to watch this. Not because it’s about my country, but because it’s the truth, I hate how everything is done here. That’s so sad, man!

I was in Cairo in december 2022. You have a lot to improve, but my experience in your country was good. Everybody with his experience. I stay to a cheap hotel and believe me the staff from that hotel was amazing.

Best of luck, I would say try to make it to the United States but our internal death spiral has begun and our country will be trash within the next 10 - 20 years

I visited Egypt once, and it was the worst trip of my life. The amount of pressure and harassment is honestly unbearable, they think I’m some sort of a Sheikh or a prince once they know I’m from Arabia, which made me wear local clothes and try fitting in to avoid all that shit. I was relieved once I got to the airport, just to be approached by an airport worker who grabbed my luggage and skipped the whole line and checked my bags in, l knew what was coming. So I told him I had no money and I showed him my wallet, after a long argument, I had to get him off my ass and I gave him the last money I had. I genuinely was so close to a nervous breakdown once I boarded my plane and got the hell outta there.

@العَدْواني yep, exactly. take it from someone who lived in KSA for many years

@yazeed alsalmi That is true, and people in Turkey speak Turkish, which is not even closely related to Arabic. Most Americans probably even believe, that Turkish people speaks Arabic, and still they believe themselves to be experts on all matters. It is of course as nonsensical to say also, that Muslims has one culture: It makes as little sense as to say, that I got the same culture as a Dane and Christian in Denmark, as my ex-wife and her family in Sri Lanka, and they were Catholics. Not Buddhist, as the majority in that nation. Likewise, I have colleagues from both Indonesia and the Middle East, who are Muslims, and they for sure has not much in common, except the faith.

@Freddy The Frog That is not true at all! I have been in Alanya twice and there you see virtually no crimes at all, or hustling. Yes, the shop owners will try to sell you stuff, most likely to tourist prices, if you do not haggle, but that is the worst I can say. I rented a bike both times, parked it outside in the middle of town at my hotels and were not even worried. Try to do that in for instance Spain or Italy and see, how quickly it would be gone!
