2) White Lies was a one piece band consisting of Haydé Walraet from Belgium. Currently known as Haydé. She had her small claim to fame with her cover of the Kaiser Chiefs' song, "Heat Dies Down" which was accepted as a heart warming cover considering Haydé had minimal live footage to work with to re-interpret it her own way.
She also covered the Little Man Tate song "You And Me Might Be Alright, You Know" which used the same technique of acoustic guitar, layered, precious vocals and simple harmonies throughout.
But she is not just a cover artist, Haydé also writes her own songs and released a demo of seven of them in the latter half of 2006. Her style is often simple and laid back with songs to calm the mind and ease you into the day. Her demo was again confronted with good press who saw her demo as a humane approach to life from the eyes of a young girl.
3) White Lies was an Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom based alternative rock band. The first years of the bands career, they were going under the name Rota. In 2004 the band released their self-titled album White Lies, having received positive reviews. Although in 2005 the band went its seperate ways, with each member having his own new band.
A Place to Hide

When you replied I just turned away
I've been searching through my books to try and find some truth
Perhaps disguised as a mysterious way
And if I made a promise Could I stay by your side?
Would you guarantee my safety
And say that I'd be all right?
But if Judgment Day started tonight at least I'd know I was right
And I'd be laughing at the end of the world
Take my hand tonight I'll think we'll be alright, girl
And I can see it on the TV, there's an air attack
People of the mountains screaming I'll be back
And I'm banging on your door so come on and let me in
Need a place to hide, I need a place to hide before the storm begins
If I told you all the times when I'd done wrong
Could you bathe my soul and wash it all away?
I can't forgive the things that I can still remember
So I think my friendly sins are here to stay
And I could make a promise with a tear in my eye
And all the hope in my heart
But all the doubt in my mind
And if Judgment Day started tonight at least I'd know I was right
And I'd be laughing at the end of the world
Take my hand tonight I think we'll be alright, girl
And I can see it on the TV, there's an air attack
People on the mountains screaming I'll be back
And I'm banging on your door so come on and let me in
Need a place to hide, I need a place to hide before the storm begins
Before the storm begins, before the storm begins
Before the storm begins
I need a place to hide before the storm begins
The lyrics of "A Place to Hide" by White Lies speak about the need for security and assurance during times of crisis. The song opens with the singer questioning his own future and seeking guidance, only to turn away from the answer. He then turns to books to find truth, but acknowledges that truth may be mysterious and disguised.
The chorus speaks of a hypothetical Judgment Day, where the singer would know that he was right and be "laughing at the end of the world". He asks for a promise of safety from someone, but acknowledges the doubt in his own mind. The second verse speaks of his inability to forgive himself for past wrongs and his acceptance of his own "friendly sins".
The bridge of the song paints a harrowing picture of an air attack and people screaming, while the singer bangs on someone's door for a place to hide before the storm begins. The repeated chorus emphasizes the singer's desire for security and reassurance.
Overall, "A Place to Hide" speaks to the universal desire for safety and assurance in a world that can be tumultuous and unpredictable.

I can't forget the things that still linger in my mind
So I think my friendly sins are here to stay
Therefore, I believe my trivial sins will remain
And I could make a promise with a tear in my eye

Honestly thank god they haven't. I like having something good that other people can't ruin for me.

They were a top 10 band so I'd say they got a lot of recognition. Fortunately it seems most of that popularity was empty, and were left with an amazing set of albums nobody has ever heard of yet everybody bought.

I found out about this band from watching the Vampire Diaries and now I just can't get to lose my life out of my head--it's such an amazing song. This is most definitely one of the best bands of today along with coldplay.
