2) White Lies was a one piece band consisting of Haydé Walraet from Belgium. Currently known as Haydé. She had her small claim to fame with her cover of the Kaiser Chiefs' song, "Heat Dies Down" which was accepted as a heart warming cover considering Haydé had minimal live footage to work with to re-interpret it her own way.
She also covered the Little Man Tate song "You And Me Might Be Alright, You Know" which used the same technique of acoustic guitar, layered, precious vocals and simple harmonies throughout.
But she is not just a cover artist, Haydé also writes her own songs and released a demo of seven of them in the latter half of 2006. Her style is often simple and laid back with songs to calm the mind and ease you into the day. Her demo was again confronted with good press who saw her demo as a humane approach to life from the eyes of a young girl.
3) White Lies was an Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom based alternative rock band. The first years of the bands career, they were going under the name Rota. In 2004 the band released their self-titled album White Lies, having received positive reviews. Although in 2005 the band went its seperate ways, with each member having his own new band.
Be Your Man
White Lies Lyrics

Split bottles in shopping aisles
Cold rain in front of you
On the inside
I wish no hurt to cover you
Magazine pictures of city-life
Wax smiles, vanilla cream
Make it an emergency
I'll be your man
Free on an open ride
Into the maple glow
Sail on the dusk, we pull
Our love in tow
I wish no guilt to trouble you
No complications on moral lines
Thick dreams of summer dew
On the inside
I wish no scorn to follow you
I'll be your man, honey I'll be fine
Long days to tower you
Don't cry
In White Lies's song "Be Your Man", lead singer Harry McVeigh sings about his desire to protect and care for someone he loves. The opening lines, "I wish no harm to come of you / Split bottles in shopping aisles / Cold rain in front of you / On the inside", suggest that he wants to shield this person from any negative experiences or feelings that they may encounter. He wants to be a source of comfort and support for them, especially during times of adversity.
The chorus, "Make it an emergency / I'll be your man / Free on an open ride / Into the maple glow / Sail on the dusk, we pull / Our love in tow", further emphasizes the singer's willingness to be there for his loved one, no matter what. He declares that he'll be their "man" and that he's ready for whatever challenges may arise. The imagery in these lines is also quite striking, as McVeigh evokes a sense of freedom and possibility through phrases like "free on an open ride" and "sail on the dusk".
Overall, "Be Your Man" is a powerful and tender love song that showcases White Lies's ability to craft thoughtful and emotional lyrics. It's a song about the desire to protect and care for someone, and the willingness to do whatever it takes to make them happy.
