In 1991, after the recording of its first demo-tape, White Skull was noticed by the audience and the specialized Italian metal press. The band started a live-promotion in order to increase its own experience. In May 1994, WS released their second demo entitled "Save the Planet", which received excellent reviews.
Excellent reviews and extensive live appearances brought the band in touch with a few Italian labels. However, their music was considered "not suitable for the market"… thus, the guys were asked to change sound and music style. Being fond of classical Heavy Metal and followers of bands like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Scorpions, Black Sabbath and Saxon, the Skulls decided to go on with their type of music, because of their belief in true Metal life-style. White Skull then contributed to two Heavy Metal compilation:
* "Nightpieces 4" (in January 1995) and "Area Sismica" (in June 1995).

Mama
White Skull Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
'Cause all over makes me feel so bad and shiver
Nowhere, no place to take shelter
In this godforsaken place nobody cares
The random violence is on the street
People pushin' and shovin'
Faces like concrete
Another bomb has just been dropped and
(chorus)
World has gone insane (X3)
Mama we see the distruction
Is this the world we've been fighting for ?
My life, i'm fearing from my life
And i would bring back the joy again tonight
The random violence is on the street
People pushin' and shovin'
Faces like concrete
Another bombs has just been dropped and
Children saw another hideous crime tonight
(chorus)
World has gone insane (x6)
In White Skull's song "Mama," the singer is pleading with their mother for a good reason to justify the current state of the world. The lyrics paint a bleak picture of a godforsaken place where random violence and destruction, exemplified by bombs and hideous crimes, are ubiquitous. The singer describes feeling helpless, with nowhere to take shelter from the constant chaos and danger, and the people around them appearing cold and unfeeling, their faces "like concrete." The repeated chorus of "World has gone insane" underscores the desperation and hopelessness of the situation, with the singer mourning the loss of innocence and joy that they once knew.
The lyrics of "Mama" are a commentary on the state of the world in which we live, with its endless cycles of violence and destruction. The song speaks to the sense of hopelessness that many people feel in the face of these seemingly intractable problems, and the search for meaning and purpose in the face of overwhelming adversity. With its powerful imagery and haunting melody, "Mama" is a poignant and thought-provoking song that captures the spirit of a generation struggling to come to terms with the world around us.
