Hailing from Melbourne Australia, White Widdow was formed in 2008 by charismatic front man Jules along with Bassist Trent and Guitar virtuoso Enzo. From its inception the vision was always to write and perform 80's Arena style melodic rock and hard edged AOR inspired by artists such as White Sister, Survivor, Treat, Dokken, Aviator, Bon Jovi and Australia's own Roxus. After initial sessions it was clear to them that to fulfill the sound they wanted, they would require a full time keyboard player. Jules immediately enlisted the help of his brother Xavier on the keyboards, a two time ARIA (Australian Record Industry Award) nominee and a well versed keyboard player in many musical styles. With Xavier onboard, the writing team was in place and the line-up was then completed with Jim on drums. Starting out playing live amongst the diverse Melbourne Rock scene, White Widdow quickly established themselves as a solid live unit throughout their native Australia. In mid 2009 White Widdow recorded and released their free digital only EP which was very well received in selected press. With their debut Self Titled album (AOR Heaven) 'White Widdow', the full vision of White Widdow has become a reality. With absolutely no concerns about modern rock trends the band has followed their hearts and proudly wear their 80's influences on their sleeves. Mixed and Mastered by Martin Kronlund (Overland, Joe Lynn Turner, Hammerfall, Bangalore Choir) at JM Studios in Sweden, White Widdow have put together an album full of Melodic Rock and AOR anthems filled with swirling keyboards, blistering guitar playing and big choruses full of hooks, the way they believe rock music should.

The tears rolling down her face
As she watched him disappear
Into the night without a trace
Still looking for answers
But the search will never end
And she can't go on like this
And she just can't pretend
The should be heart to heart, side by side
Instead they're living separate lives
They should be side by side, heart to heart
But now they're living worlds apart, they're...
Strangers in the night
If only their love could find a way
Strangers in the night
Still holding on to yesterday
He left her far behind
When he walked on out that door
He gave up on there love
Just wasn't the same anymore
That night still haunts his mind
He can never escape this pain
The heart wants what the heart wants
And if she feels the same
The should be heart to heart, side by side
Instead they're living separate lives
They should be side by side, heart to heart
But now they're living worlds apart, they're...
Strangers in the night
If only their love could find a way
Strangers in the night
Still holding on to yesterday
Strangers in the night
If only their love could find a way
Strangers in the night
Still holding on to yesterday
Heart to heart, side by side
Side by side, heart to heart
Strangers in the night
If only their love could find a way
Strangers in the night
Still holding on to yesterday
Strangers in the night
If only their love could find a way
Strangers in the night
Still holding on to yesterday
The lyrics of White Widdow's song "Strangers in the Night" depict the story of a couple who, at one point in their lives, were inseparable and deeply in love. However, time and distance have taken their toll on their relationship, causing them to grow apart and become strangers. The woman still remembers the pain of watching her lover disappear into the night without a trace, unable to find answers to her questions. She can no longer pretend everything's alright and is left alone with the hope that their love finds a way back.
On the other hand, the man left her behind as he could no longer cope with the issues in their relationship. His heart still beats for her, and he feels the same pain, haunted by the night they parted ways. However, he believes that the heart wants what it wants, and if they still feel the same for each other, maybe there's a chance for them to reunite. The lyrics suggest that both of them should be side by side, heart to heart, but their relationship is lost in the void that separates them.
The song speaks about the universal theme of lost love, the ones that got away, and the deep yearning and pain that come with it. It suggests that loving someone is easy, but maintaining a relationship takes effort, and once it's gone, it's never easy to revive it. The lyrics of the song aim to touch the hearts of those who have gone through similar situations, and the melody adds a melancholic touch to it, making it an emotional ballad.
