Super-Charger Heaven
White Zombie Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Look, I know the supernatural
Is something that isn't supposed to happen
But it does happen

Yeah, Jesus lived his life in a cheap hotel
On the edge of Route 66, yeah
He lived a dark and twisted life
And he came right back just to do it again
Eye for and eye and a tooth for a truth
I ain't never seen a demon warp dealin'
A ring-a-ding rhythm or jukebox racket
My mind can't clutch the feeling, yeah

Devil man, devil man, calling devil man
Running in my head, yeah
Devil man, devil man, calling devil man
Running in my head, yeah

Hell hounds lead at the cowardly kings
And carry souls across the river Styx, yeah
They see no evil and feel no pain
Sucking juice from a fallen angel
I dreamed I was a supernova fucker nitro
Burning and fuel injection
Feed the gods a strychnine soul
A motherfucker of invention

Devil man, devil man, calling devil man
Running in my head, yeah
Devil man, devil man, calling devil man
Running in my head, yeah

Insipientia corde suo, non es deus
Non esta vita qui adorem, non es usque ad unum
Es excommunicatus, ex unione fidelium

It is not heresy, and I will not recant

Yeah, inbreed the witches and worship the dogs
Deformed and fucking lazy
Damn yourself and choke on my name
I'd love to love ya baby
Dead ringer rats swinging in the trees
Immaculate conception, bury me an angel
God I need some inspiration

Yeah
Devil man, devil man, calling devil man
Running in my head, yeah

Devil man, devil man, calling devil man
Running in my head, yeah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of White Zombie's song "Super-Charger Heaven" depict a dark and twisted world that mixes religious and supernatural themes. The song starts with a reference to Jesus living in a cheap hotel on the edge of Route 66, which is an allusion to his time spent wandering in the desert. The verses continue with references to hell hounds leading cowardly kings and carrying souls across the River Styx. The lyrics then take a turn towards a more personal narrative, as the singer dreams of being a supernova fucker nitro and feeding the gods a strychnine soul. The verses continue with references to inbreeding witches and worshiping dogs and, finally, the singer's desire for inspiration.

Working at Footlocker in a very Mormon Salt Lake City in 1998. Put this album on our sound system and a Karen walked in with a baby and a toddler, RIGHT when the DEVILMAN, DEVILMAN chorus rang out. She did a 180 turn and left. I lost a potential sale, but gained a great rock 'n roll memory. :)

Crusty demons 1, loved this song. My brother got this album, smashed it, Super Christian stepfather found it and snapped it. Bump it to this day 👌

@@simonhill6267 We first heard of White Zombie on their first big album, La Sexorcisto, Devil Music Vol 1. It was the soundtrack to an old Panisonic 3DO game called, "Way of the Warrior", a bad ass fighting game in the mid 90's. When my pastor father came in the room, we'd have to cut the volume WAY down. :D
