Fallen
Whitecross Lyrics

I'm feeling lazy or just tired of everything
The days go by so fast that
I'm spinning crazy
I just wanna run away
This heart of mine is breakin'
It's time to see if I can I got to break away
Each time I try to find out
Just what it takes to fill this
Emptiness inside
I do believe that there's a better way
And if we find it we will want to stay
I do believe it's still a mystery
How one man changed the course of history
I sometimes wonder if I could ever point
The way to someone else in need
If there's a place of shelter
A place of paradise for all eternity
This one man left all heaven's glory for you
This one man came and died but rose again
This one man will soon come again
I do believe that there's a better way
And if we find it we will want to stay
I do believe it's still a mystery
How one man changed the course of history
The lyrics to Whitecross’s “Fallen” depict a person who is feeling lost, overwhelmed, and ultimately seeking a way out of their current state of being. The first verse expresses that the singer is unsure of what they need and questioning their current state of mind. They are feeling physically and emotionally drained, and the days are passing by too quickly that they feel like they’re going crazy. Their only respite would be to run away from their problems.
The second verse reveals how the singer’s heart is breaking due to the emptiness they feel inside. They recognize the need to break away, to find inner peace and fulfillment, but every attempt to do so has failed. The chorus presents a glimmer of hope as the singer believes that there is a better way to live life. They have faith that once this better way is found, they will choose to stay with it. The song also explores the theme of religion and faith. The bridge speaks to the story of one man who changed the course of history, dying and rising from the dead, offering shelter and eternal paradise.
Overall, the lyrics to “Fallen” are relatable to anyone who has felt lost or struggled with finding meaning and purpose in their lives. The song encourages listeners to have faith in a better way of living and learning from past mistakes to move forward.

"thought the fight was fixed" rather than "thought the light was fixed". The imagery in the song is all about fighting in a ring and a fixed fight is not a fair one.
