Whitmore Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What did you do that was so wrong?
The things you said but now you're gone
Never tell you just how I feel
You never showed me, well if your love was for real
What did I say to make you walk away?
What can I say to make you stay?

Overall Meaning

In these lyrics, Whitmore is expressing his confusion and regret over a relationship that has ended. He questions his own actions and words, wondering if he did something to cause the other person to leave. At the same time, he reflects on the fact that this person never showed him love in a genuine way, and wonders if their feelings were ever truly real. The second stanza continues this theme of confusion and longing, as Whitmore expresses his desire to make things right and bring the other person back into his life.

Overall, these lyrics capture the feeling of heartbreak and regret that many people experience after a relationship ends. The questions Whitmore asks are universal, and speak to the deeper longing for connection and understanding that exists within all of us.
