The thing is this singer is a far better singer than Madonna (which isn't hard admittedly). To me this has far more life than the original it's got a real vibe going on. I think the singer was a session singer on a lot of 1980s/1990s classic singles, The production and musicianship on display on this record is very good indeed. It really grooves at the end. one of the best cover versions of a pop single I've ever heard..

I thought this and Madonna's original version of Holiday were a separate song when I was young. When I heard Madonna sing the full lyrics when I was growing up, that's when I realized they are the same lyrics after all and this version only lacks the original chorus.
