When WKBL get on the stage things tend to get wild as they hammer through indie, electro and rock 'n' roll favourites from the Strokes and Jet to their synthed up version of LCD Soundsystem's 'North American Scum'. The band consisting of Wassim Bou Malham on guitar and lead vocals, Hassib Dergham on keyboard, Malek Rizkallah on drums and Pascal Sarkis on bass have been playing together for years under different outfits. Since forming as WKBL, they've been gigging all across the city. Musically, the band is tight; think of them as human jukeboxes who transform themselves into said band in the blink of an eye.

Scoop City:
“Who Killed Bruce Lee” A title that makes you wonder what went on when they came up with the name. Established in 2010, the band got together and created one of the tightest, musically rich, and innovative groups in Lebanon’s local music scene.
Playing the best of indie, electro, rock n’ roll, and more, they provided audiences with a chance to sing along, dance and get wild as they blasted out those tunes loud and strong. The band’s foundation is made up of the raw tools used in rock, consisting of guitar, keyboard, bass and drums. Utilizing each instrument to its fullest, Wassim’s guitar wailing out the guitar riffs as Pascale’s groovy bass lines lock-in with Malek’s drums, only to have Hassib’s keyboard styling’s give the music that extra “zing” that lifts the songs to another level.
This band has the perfect makeup for an “underground/indie” rock group whether it comes to song selection, musicianship or audience interaction. ScoopCity met up with the band, for our funniest interview yet: http://www.scoopcity.com/index.php?option=com_pressdetail&view=events&item=127

Pool Party
Who Killed Bruce Lee Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
kissing one big boy at a time, don't know what it'll get you
You're always drowning in the deepest pool side
You're trying to dim the light
Who popped her cherry chopped her berry in the pool party
who popped her pinky cherry chopped her berry in the pool party it was you pappay
(when you're going down to kiss just remember... i'll be here when you come up... just keep on going down 'cause i just don't want to be on my own)
Changing hands on her thighs she gonna do what you want to
seizing all the hungry eyes, don't know what it'll get you
You're always drowning in the deepest pool side
Cant find a place to hide
The song Pool Party by Who Killed Bruce Lee is a haunting and darkly suggestive track that explores the dangerous and hedonistic world of a pool party. The lyrics suggest a scene where a young woman is being tricked and manipulated by her hedonistic peers into performing sexual acts for their satisfaction. The line "Walk me to the end of the line trick trick me to like you" suggests that the woman is being led down a path of destruction by those around her. This is further reinforced by the line "kissing one big boy at a time, don't know what it'll get you."
The chorus of the song is particularly evocative, with the lines "Who popped her cherry chopped her berry in the pool party, who popped her pinky cherry chopped her berry in the pool party it was you pappay" suggesting that a specific person at the party is responsible for the destruction of the woman's innocence. The chorus is sung in a taunting and suggestive manner, making it clear that the person responsible is enjoying their power over the situation.
Overall, the lyrics of Pool Party create a vivid and unsettling picture of a world where pleasure and power are the only currencies that matter. The woman in the song is clearly a victim of this world, and the lyrics suggest that she may be forever lost to it.
