1]
I've seen girls younger than me
Doing things that I've never done
See these girls and think [?]
Full of [?]

And I'm slow-mo for a while
And I was sure enough for a while

Further from my wilder years
I get kinder to the younger girls

I've seen girls younger than me
So sure of what they want
And it gets harder focusing on
What I wanna focus on

And I'm slow-mo for a while
And I was sure enough for a while

Further from my wilder years
I get kinder to the younger girls

Further from my wilder years
I get kinder to
Further from my wilder years
I get kinder to the younger girls

I've seen girls
I've seen girls
I've seen girls
I've seen girls

Description 1 Contributor?
Girls is the first single from Widowspeak upcoming album, All Yours.

About the track, Molly said:

"Girls" was first a voice memo I'd recorded on my phone. It pretty much stayed the same in terms of lyrics and melody, although we added instruments and everything later on when we were recording. That's why it's kind of simple; I was just singing what I was thinking at the time.

Overall Meaning

The song "Girls" by Widowspeak talks about the experience of aging and observing younger girls going through things that the singer hasn't experienced yet. The lyrics suggest a sense of nostalgia for the singer's wilder years, but it also recognizes the natural process of growing and changing as one age. The chorus "Further from my wilder years, I get kinder to the younger girls" reinforces this idea, as the singer grows older, they become more patient and understanding towards the younger generation.

The repetition of "I've seen girls" in the song could be interpreted in different ways, it could be seen as a reminiscence of the singer's own youth, or it could be referring to the girls that they have observed through their life. The line "And it gets harder focusing on what I wanna focus on" suggests that as one grows older, it becomes harder to stay focused on what's important to them as they get distracted by the events around them.

Overall, "Girls" is a reflective piece that explores the emotions and thoughts that come with aging and observing youth.
