Instead of arguing 'this is better than that' and dissing other versions, try showing a bit of musical maturity and appreciate that other musicians have interpreted the song their way. Yes this is the original recorded on primitive equipment ... and that's how it sounds ... raw, earthy and beautiful. Just be thankful someone took the time to upload it...thanks Hankgwe

WELL said...This sounds like it was recorded at a Black back yard barbeque in 1950s...Old brothers with REAL soul...ALL other versions sound like cheap $ driven imitations compared to purity of this original...

Joe,
What you are saying makes sense, but I have a query.

According to Wikipedia this is not his original version, but is a 1969 re-working of the original song "Let's Stick Together" which is also available on YouTube (the other one has a yellow label).

According to Wikipedia, the other one, "Let's stick together" is the 1962 original, but it doesn't sound older to my ears. Bryan Ferry covered this version, whereas Status Quo covered "work together", which seems more guitar-ish.

Can you shed any light?

@lordXAVIJAANBJERGNOG , thanks 👍🇨🇦

Canned Heat definatley propelled this tune 10 light years ahead in production, melodic beauty, and quality. Creedence Clearwater had that same talent, and made tunes to the effect that it should of been original and their own in the final product. Lets not 'overtip' our hat to these yesterdecade blues guys.
