Leaving home was like leaping out of a moving camry. the speed and bang they knew had vanished all at once, and they were left traipsing. About 17 months after arriving in Birmingham, Jenny the ghost girl wrote a folk-gaze song about missing her old insurmountable Marietta band, and posted the song in an ad on Xanga.com. and that was how her bandmates found her and Wilder Adkins was cheered.
Wilder Adkins writes songs about rings and sweatbands. we sound like indie and folk and CCM, a mix of Deerhunter and The Kinks, except with dulcimer. Wilder Adkins is a certified Pokemon trainer.

Dreamer
Wilder Adkins Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
they don't have a heart like the one you got
everyone, I say, lives in such a state
and they tear you down, head in the clouds
I am a dreamer too
I think I dreamed of you
Caught up in a fog, I was lost in thought
and I missed the car, that went down to war
and the train pulled in, smoke as black as sin
with its heavy load, I just went on home
I am a dreamer too
And I think I dreamed of you
how our time is overdue
Baby, lets get lost
lets get lost
The lyrics to Wilder Adkins's song Dreamer are ripe with meaning, but are cryptic enough to leave room for interpretation. On the surface, it may seem like a song about two people who are meant to be together but haven't had the chance to connect yet. The first verse sets the tone for this interpretation, with its lines about how everyone else lives in a "hole" and doesn't have a heart as pure as the person the singer is addressing. This could be interpreted as the singer expressing how unique and special he finds this person, and why they would be a good match.
However, the second verse complicates things. It mentions a car going to war, and a train with black smoke, bringing to mind images of loss and grief. The last line of the verse also references the singer going home, implying a sense of resignation or defeat. This creates a bittersweet tone to the song, suggesting that the singer may have missed his chance with this special person due to circumstances outside of his control.
Despite this, the chorus remains hopeful. The repetition of the line "I am a dreamer too / And I think I dreamed of you / how our time is overdue" indicates that the singer still believes in the possibility of a connection, no matter how unlikely it may seem. The final lines of "Baby, lets get lost / lets get lost" reinforces this longing for a world where he can be with the person he's dreaming of, even if it means leaving the rest of the world behind.

Everyone I know lives in such a hole
All of the people I know live in a depressing state
they don't have a heart like the one you got
None of them possess a heart as beautiful as yours
everyone, I say, lives in such a state
Every person I speak to is in the same dreary situation
and they tear you down, head in the clouds
They will try to bring you down while they remain oblivious to their own state of mind
I am a dreamer too
I too have an imaginative mind
I think I dreamed of you
I had a dream about you
how our time is overdue
We should've met or been together a long time ago
Caught up in a fog, I was lost in thought
I was distracted by my own musings
and I missed the car, that went down to war
I was so preoccupied that I overlooked the vehicle bound for battle
and the train pulled in, smoke as black as sin
A smoky train arrived in the station
with its heavy load, I just went on home
The train was so full that I decided to head back
Baby, lets get lost
Hey, let's go wander
lets get lost
Let's get lost together
