Wearing My Rolex
Wiley Lyrics

What would we do
Usually drink, usually dance, usually bubble
All I want to do is tell you I love you
That's when I start promising the world to
A brand new girl I don't even know yet
Next thing she's wearing my Rolex

What would we do
Usually drink, usually dance, usually bubble
Usually drink, usually dance, usually bubble
What would we do
Usually drink, usually dance, usually bubble
All I want to do is tell you I love you

All I want to do is tell you I love you
That's when I start promising the world to
A brand new girl I don't even know yet
Next thing she's wearing my Rolex
Too much champs, don't know where my phone is
Here's my number, she already knows it
This chapter's a lot, better close it
Just a look in her eye was so evil
Wiley's a party guy and she knows it

What would we do
Usually drink, usually dance, usually bubble
All I want to do is tell you I love you
That's when I start promising the world to
A brand new girl I don't even know yet

Overall Meaning

Wearing My Rolex is a song by British grime artist Wiley. It is a song about partying and love, with Wiley expressing his desire to tell his love interests that he loves them, even if he barely knows them. The lyrics suggest that in Wiley's usual routine, he drinks, dances and has fun with new people, but when he meets someone he really likes, he starts making grand promises and giving them expensive gifts, like his Rolex. The song is about the excitement of new love connections and the frivolous lifestyle that accompanies it.

The lyrics of Wearing My Rolex are a reflection of the changing attitudes towards relationships and love in modern society. The emphasis on materialism and quick, fleeting experiences is evident throughout the lyrics. Wiley is not interested in getting to know his love interests, but instead rushes headlong into grand, over-the-top promises.

Despite its somewhat controversial message, Wearing My Rolex became a commercial success, and peaked at number 2 on the UK singles charts. The song's catchy beat, infectious melody, and simple lyrics quickly made it a hit with audiences. It also became popular around the world, with the song charting in several other countries.

This used to be my closing track as a DJ back in the days. I don't really know why, since it's actually a decent track and the lyrics have absolutely nothing to do with kicking somebody out. Still, it became sort of a tradition to play Dizzee Rascal's "Bonkers" and then Wiley's "Wearing My Rolex" immediately afterwards to end my sets. Fond memories!

Can’t play a banger like this to end shit
