So as to serve a torch upturned,
In order to provide a source of light in the darkness.

Shrouded in bone and bloodlike tears,
Hidden beneath a veil of death and sorrow.

Of pure spirit, henceforth pay homage,
This is an offering of respect to the pure spirits.

So pale and dreadful, our graven image,
Our representation is both unsettling and deathly pale.

Is this time dead? Children of dust,
We are not immortal, but instead mortal beings made from dust.

So forlorn and so forsaken,
Lost and forgotten, abandoned by the divine.

In cloven tongue, this seeming fealure,
In a broken language, it may appear as though we have failed.

Alas lay lifeless fallen cherubs,
Even heavenly beings can fall into a lifeless state.

To endless years our thoughts stillborn,
Our unfulfilled, stillborn ideas stretch into eternity.

The scattered graves our minds will mourn,
Our scattered thoughts and ideas will one day be mourned.

These ages past, Heaven forbid,
These ancient times, God help us.

We of the lower world in mourning.
Our mortal existence is one of mourning and sorrow.
