Is This Love
Will Downing&Lee Ritenour Lyrics

You're so much different than me
Yes I know
And I'm only enemy
Pain is all that I can see oh

I see you're climbing a tree
And I know
That it's easier to be up high in
The air than on the ground

And it's love, etc

You say you can't say anymore
You've already said it before
In a million different ways
Which where all not quite right

The rain is loud on the ground
Yes I know
But I don't even make a sound when
I come around oh

And you say I'd be better of dead
Well I know
But its no use hiding this pretty
Head in the ground

And it's love, etc

And we can do the zarathustra
We can do the broken fist
We can tear down all the borders
Or abbreviate the list
And when finally the finish line
Emerges from the mist
We'll sound a soft alarm

Woah oh

Overall Meaning

These lyrics from "Is This Love" by Will Downing and Lee Ritenour featuring Will Downing speak to the differences between two people in a relationship. The singer acknowledges that they are different than the person they are talking to, and admits to being an "enemy" to them. They see the other person climbing a tree, and note that it's easier to be up high in the air than on the ground. Despite the differences and pain, they know that it's love.

The other person responds by saying they can't express their feelings anymore, having said them in many ways that weren't quite right. They hear the rain on the ground, but the singer doesn't make a sound when they come around. The other person says that perhaps the singer would be better off dead, but acknowledges that hiding their head in the ground won't help. The song ends with a call to action, suggesting that the two can work together to overcome obstacles and reach the "finish line" together.

Overall, the song speaks to the difficulties and differences in relationships, but ultimately ends with a message of hope and determination to make it work.

I just love Will!....he sang here in Buffalo some 12 years ago, saw his show, and it was amazing...big guy, built like a football blocker too! ♥

@kathyscorpio

He's awesome. I had the pleasure of meeting Will a few years back at one of his childhood friends 50th birthday party here in West Palm Beach. I love Will Downings smoothness so much, I traveled to North Carolina in September 2022 when he and Stephanie Mills performed. One of my favorite concerts.🙂

@@kathyscorpio ...and just to add, he sang at somewhat a small venue, and we do have a large diverse of people, and many mix ethnic throughout Buffalo, and many, many concerts of all kinds, but it surprisingly got me that I was the only white person at that concert...lol, didn't feel uncomfortable at all either...how he'll be back soon again!
