@@Bigband78 I understand only too well. If I didn't have my job to keep me going I would be in a total depressed mood.
Without Jim and losing so many other friends to that rotten Covid I used to get together with sometimes I just cry for the reality of how life has gotten so sad.

@@1920sfan1 I never knew he baked beautiful pies. I traded him 10 Paul Whiteman Potatoeheads +Sheet Music for a Victor 4-3 othophonic console that sounds great.Art passed away on Jan 4th and Marylou and I went down to Phila to pick it up the day after the big highway collapse(we didn't know about it).His wife Cathy was real nice and helped us out. I'll make a video of Art's 4-3 playing shortly.

So glad someone transferred this! Someone uploaded this phonographically years ago, but it's great to hear it in it's full glory. Osborne and the orchestra are incredibly lively here. Can you post the flipside of this though please? I've been dying to hear One Little Raindrop by Will for years now. Plus there's a discographical mystery about that side dating back 50+ years, wherein it's been said that a trumpeter, one "George McGhee" played on this release, but nowhere else is he ever discographically mentioned. Plus the Osborne orchestra wouldn't feature any brass until later in 1931, and only once prior back in 1929 featuring a cornet (we beleive it's one) distantly on one side. I'd really love to be able to put this to rest either by getting this confirmed, or it being debunked. Either way, it along with every other 1931 recording of Osborne's yet to be rediscovered is vitally important to researching and understanding how Will lead his orchestra and made musical advancements during this time.

I once read that these early Will Osborne's were members of the Freddy Martin Orchestra. Could not find anything on a "George McGhee"

@@Bigband78 the association with Freddy Martin wouldn't come until 1932, when under the rule of the ARC, Osborne was to make records with Freddy Martin, Victor Young, Nye Mayhew, as well as complete Studio on assembles in which will afford sometimes Direct. Having the usual names of the studio world we all know and love, commonly mixed in there with a couple of Osborne's own sidemen. It is strongly believed that at least half of these records between January of 1932 and November of 1933 have been arranged by Will himself, and the rest being by in-house stock arrangers. In December of '33, Osborne's band started recording again, but still at least half the time with Studio Orchestras up until late 1934 when Osbourne's band would entirely retake the studio.
