G R O W
Willow Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I been putting work in, healing myself
Still got room to grow
I been really searching emotional wealth
Honestly my heart is broke
I just need to
Grow, grow, grow
Grow, grow, grow
Grow, grow, grow
I just need to, I just need to grow

Every time I look at my face
I feel everything it's the same growing pains
'Cause no one ever truly knows just who they are
And I feel closer knowing I don't have to hide my scars
I hope you know you're not alone
Being confused ain't right or wrong
You'll find that you're your own best friend
And no, that ain't a fuckin' metaphor

I been putting work in, healing myself
Still got room to grow
I been really searching emotional wealth
Honestly my heart is broke
I just need to
Grow, grow, grow
Grow, grow, grow
Grow, grow, grow
I just need to, I just need to grow

Every time I look at my face
I can't help but feel like I lost my way
'Cause no one ever truly knows just who they are
And I feel closer when I'm laying looking at the stars
I hope you know you're not alone
Being confused ain't right or wrong
You'll find that you're your own best friend
And no, that ain't a fuckin' metaphor

I been putting work in, healing myself
Still got room to grow
I been really searching emotional wealth
Honestly my heart is broke
I just need to
Grow, grow, grow
Grow, grow, grow (I just need to grow)

Grow, grow, grow
I just need to, I just need to grow

For all who need this, it gets better! ❤️ You will see that you grow your whole life. You will see that your likes and dislikes change almost as often as your age.

You will understand when you mature and see the bigger picture. Reality, feeling the connection to the Earth, and every being on it. All that matters is that you are happy and healthy.
Loving yourself entirely, exactly as you are now and who you grow to be.
Don’t let the perceptions of others control you.
Love. Hate devours humanity, avoid it like the plague it is.
Only let people who are grounded to reality in your life. They will be the ones who elicit and reflect positive emotions/vibes more than negativity. If they make your entire psyche feel whole, they are worthy of traveling with you on the paths you choose as you grow.
Don’t be afraid of mistakes. Like Bob Ross, make it into something beautiful.
Enjoy life. Living creates the beautiful pattern that is weaved into your soul. Every new area of growth is a thread.

As a black teen back in the day I lived for Avril and her music.Seeing someone like Willow doing a collab with her is an out of body experience because my inner child feels seen and represented.I’m a grown adult with kids of my own now but I am living for this! Willow’s voice is amazing and I hope she has a long career ahead.
