When I got to college, I'll never forget, one of my professors told me
I remember one of my college professors told me

That I was goin' to be nothing in life and imma end up in an ally
He told me I would amount to nothing and end up in a dark place

And I kinda ended up like that way, at least for a while
I did end up struggling with addiction and homelessness for a period of time

My story started, eh
My journey began

Such a long time ago
Many years ago

Sometimes that seems impossible
At times it seemed impossible to achieve my goals

Some said I was unable, yeah
Some people thought I was not capable

I never stopped believin', ah
But I never stopped believing in myself
