Windmill Lyrics

Freeze the daw
I saw you off
I couldn't help the way it was
Or help you to understand
Boardroom, dust and particles
Freeze the daw
I saw you off
I am the epcotman
My head races faster than
My head races faster than
My head races faster than yours
My head races stranger on
My head races stranger than
My head races stranger than yours
I had ideas that you
Couldn't understand and you
I had ideas that you fell through
I had ideas that you
Couldn't understand and you
I had ideas that you fell through
If I die before it gets carried out
Things will stay the same
And you will understand
Why I tried
If I die before it gets carried out
Things will get much worse
And you will understand
Why I tried
And I come off stranger now to you
And I come off stranger now to you
The lyrics of Windmill's song Epcotman explore themes of isolation, misunderstanding and the consequences of unfulfilled dreams. The repeated chorus of "Boardroom, dust and particles, freeze the daw, I saw you off" creates a sense of detachment from the world, as if the singer is separated by a barrier of dust and debris. The emotional disconnection is further emphasized by the lines "I couldn't help the way it was, or help you to understand." The singer seems to feel that their inability to articulate their ideas has caused a divide between themself and others.
The song's title and the line "I am the epcotman" suggest a fascination with the Disney theme park Epcot Center, which is known for its futuristic design and technological advancements. The singer may see themselves as an inventor or a visionary like the park's creators, but their ideas are not understood or appreciated by others. The lines "My head races faster than yours, my head races stranger than yours" demonstrate the singer's feeling of being disconnected from the rest of the world, as if they are operating on a different frequency from everyone else.
The second half of the song takes on a more ominous tone, with the repeated line "If I die before it gets carried out, things will get much worse, and you will understand why I tried." The singer seems to be grappling with the idea of mortality and the possibility of not being able to fulfill their dreams before it's too late. The final line "And I come off stranger now to you" conveys a sense of alienation, as the singer feels that they have become even more distant from others as a result of their unfulfilled aspirations.
