While playing live, the band attempts to make the listener as much a part of the music as the band themselves by encouraging everyone to sing along.
They were nominated for two Juno Awards of 2008 and took home one of them: Alternative Album of the Year, and New Group of the Year (which they won).

Nerves Normal Breath Normal
Wintersleep Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There was violence.
Words to God.
There was something.
I'll be calm
Like an organ.
Fadin' out.
Tired of breathing.
Keep it moving.
Am I alive?
Am I still breathing?
Worry not...
The lyrics of Wintersleep's song "Nerves Normal Breath Normal" contain a sense of desperation and confusion. The repetition of the questions "Am I alive? Am I still breathing?" expresses a deep sense of uncertainty and anxiety. The opening lines of the song set the tone with descriptions of floods and violence, adding to the feeling of chaos that pervades throughout the track. The phrase "words to God" heightens the sense of desperation and seeking for answers. The line "I'll be calm like an organ" contrasts with the rest of the lyrics and creates a sense of hopeful resignation. The phrase "tired of breathing" adds to the overall feeling of exhaustion that is present in the song. The repetition of the phrase "keep it moving" highlights the determination to not give up and to push through the difficulties.
The song is open to interpretation, but it might be seen as a reflection of the struggles of life and the search for hope in difficult moments. The lyrics express a feeling of being lost and uncertain, but the call to keep moving forward and not give up is a powerful message. The dissonance in the song reflects the discord and chaos of the world, but the hopeful resignation of the final line provides the listener with a sense of comfort.
