Love Love
Wire Train Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Love her and her rosary
And I love her in her name
Love her in the voting booth
She's president again
L. O. V. in morse code
With a hammer on his face
And I can hear her footsteps leaving
Tapping out her hate

In all of this gentlemen
That I cannot see
Making up to Mary
While she's making misery

Love, love, love
Love will stay with me
Love my lover love
Love, love, love
Love will stay with me
Love my lover love

Love is just a game of leaving
So she said and left
Love her all your lifetime
And you'll love her in the end
Faith's a hat you wear in April
And love is like the rain
Love her bridges bubbling
Her prayers stays the same

And no love is gentleman
That I cannot see
Making out to Mary
While she's making misery

Love, love, love
Love will stay with me
Love my lover love
Love, love, love
Love will stay with me
Love my lover love
Love

(Love)

Love, love, love
Love will stay with me
Love my lover love
Love, love, love
Love will stay with me
Love my lover love

Love
Won't stay with me
Love
Won't stay with me
Love, love, love, love, love, love

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love
And love her love

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Wire Train's "Love Love" are somewhat enigmatic, creating a sense of ambiguity and leaving room for varying interpretations. The song appears to be about a love affair that ends in disappointment, with the singer expressing his love for someone and mentioning her in various contexts. The lyrics open with "Love her and her rosary, And I love her in her name," suggesting that the object of the singer's love may be a devout Catholic or someone who is strongly attached to her name. The lines "Love her in the voting booth, She's president again" indicate that the woman is politically active and confident in her abilities.

There is a sense of frustration and confusion throughout the song, with the singer unable to understand the object of his love and the reasons for her leaving. The lines "And I can hear her footsteps leaving, Tapping out her hate" imply that the woman may be angry or resentful towards the singer. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Love, love, love. Love will stay with me" several times, suggesting that despite the difficulties of the relationship, the singer is still holding onto hope and the idea of love.

The lyrics also touch on the theme of faith, with lines such as "Faith's a hat you wear in April, And love is like the rain." These lines imply that faith and love are fleeting and transitory, and that they may change with time. Overall, the lyrics of "Love Love" are somewhat cryptic, but convey a sense of longing and mystery that makes the song compelling.

Awsome song! Pumps me up dude. I saw them in 1986 at the 9:30 club in Washington D.C. My friends and I got up close to the stage. The 9:30 club was small, so we got to meet the band members in the hallway. I remember the lead singer wore boots with stars on them. They sounded just like the studio when they were live. A very good sound. They should have continued playing love songs, and songs for young people with meaning. They could have gone so far on the charts. They were so talented.

I've always loved this band. I put them in the same genre as Big Country, U2 and The Church. Something about the psychedelic guitars mixed with great songs about love. I recall not having trouble meeting hot girls in nightclubs and going on dates but holding onto these beauties was another thing and this song fits that sentiment perfectly.
