The lyrics of Wisin & Yandel's "La Barría" describe the scene of a party in the Barrio, a low-income neighborhood known for its lively social life. The singer is attracted to a woman, and every time he approaches her, she asks him for a "barri'a," meaning a dance move involving moving back and forth, which is popular in the area. The woman is described as a hot-headed person, but the singer still wants to dance with her.
In the second verse, the singer warns the woman to leave her attitude behind if she wants to have a good time. He mentions a common hangout spot in the Barrio called Pavía, which is notorious for fights and other disturbances. He tells the woman that if she continues with her "chulería," which means arrogance or pretentiousness, she might end up in trouble during the night.
The lyrics in the rest of the song are a mix of playful wordplay, humorous insults, and party slogans. The song's chorus is sung repeatedly with the same energy, which creates a chant-like atmosphere that reflects the party vibe of the Barrio.
