@@feyefall4855I am doing a pacifist run and lemme tell ya, there's still plenty of reasons.
He also can totally bite and not kill.
The game forces you to kill at many junctures, or allow killing too. See Smythin, you cannot save him anymore. He's the guy goblins kick into the spider pit. I killed the whole room and the guy who kicks him returned from the dead to kick him.
Even if you are attempting a pacifist run, there's so many points where you absolutely have to fight and you have no choice. Minthara there's no middle ground, you have to KO her but a true pacifist run won't work. You can't talk your way out of major quest lines (I've tried).
The zentarim questline, if you steal the chest Rugan gets killed unless you free him so doing true "pacifist" is virtually impossible if you want to actually "play" the game.
Astarion also, despite his wining, is often totally down with pacifism, he approves of subverting conflict many times. He's just self interested - but he's genuinely the best tool for KO'ing since you need a melee attack with non-lethal... and he can sneak attack entire groups 1 by 1 to do just that.
Hilariously you really need him and karlach, the most brutal meleeists have the easiest ko tools since Sleep wears off. Calm emotions doesn't end fights either.
A true pacifist run would still need him since he's the sneakiest boy out there too.
Someone is likely going to figure out a 100% no violence run, but most pacifist style runs he's extremely useful and the bite being low damage is very useful, because you're often trying to avoid critical hits while softening so... the bite sure beats the bow.
This game is hilariously well done.

I wouldve said that. Doesnt feel like a true druid answer when you say no people only animals. Fuck the people leave my animals alone. And considering he was only allowed to eat animals for the longest time im sure hed be thrilled to hear that answer
