Enemy
Within Reason Lyrics

On the way to the top and I’m ready for speed.
Amped up, revved up, lit up and feeling tough.
Pissed as hell and I can’t get enough.
Better watch your back, you know I’m the enemy.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
I’m the enemy.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
I’m the enemy.
Going head to head and here comes disaster.
It’s one and one; it’s just you and me.
Amped up, revved up, lit up and feeling tough.
Pissed as hell and I can’t get enough.
Better watch you back, you know I’m the enemy.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
I’m the enemy.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
I’m the enemy.
Letting out the animal in me, and I’m filling up your veins like a disease.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
I’m the enemy.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
I’m the enemy.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
You’re the enemy.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
You’re the enemy.
I’m the enemy, the enemy.
The lyrics to Within Reason's "Enemy" convey the energy and determination of someone who is on a mission to reach the top and confront anyone who stands in their way. The use of reiterated phrases like "going straight to the top" and "amped up, revved up, lit up and feeling tough" create a sense of urgency and power. The repetition of the phrase "I'm the enemy" throughout the song signifies that the singer is not afraid to be perceived as a threat or to confront those who are blocking their path.
The lyric "letting out the animal in me, and I'm filling up your veins like a disease" is particularly noteworthy, as it suggests a level of aggression and dominance that not only seeks to overcome obstacles but to infect others with their intensity. This line expresses the desire to not only succeed but also to take others down with them, making it clear that the singer is not to be underestimated.
Overall, "Enemy" is a song about determination, aggressiveness, and the unyielding pursuit of one's goals. It embodies an attitude of fearlessness and unapologetic ambition, reminding listeners that sometimes the things that make us enemies can also fuel our drive towards success.

Saw this group Friday Night in Dallas. They opened for Godsmack. Wow! they rocked, had energy and kicked ass. The band knew everyone was there for Godsmack, and even acknowledged it. I was impressed how humble they were about. Still they rocked, sounded great. Best of luck to them!
