Wizkid's song "Sexy" is a love song that praises the African woman's beauty and emphasizes the need for a stress-free relationship. The lyrics are mostly in Pidgin and Yoruba, which is common among West African artistes. The song opens with a repetitive "Sexy! Sexy! Sexy!" chant that instantly sets the tone for the song.
The first verse talks about needing a partner who will bless and love him without causing any stress. He seeks a relationship that will kill all the wahala (troubles) and stress. In the chorus, Wizkid appreciates the African woman's beauty, describing it as heavy and overloaded. He is glad that Odumare (God) has blessed them with such beauty. The second verse acknowledges the importance of telling one's partner how much they love and cherish them.
The song is a typical Afrobeats sound, which is popularly known for its fusion of African rhythms and contemporary music styles. The upbeat and lively tempo of the song is characteristic of Afrobeats, which makes it an energetic tune perfect for dancing. Overall, the song celebrates the essence of love and the beauty of African women.
