(1) Wizzard was Roy Wood’s post- ELO project. Formed in Wood's hometown of Birmingham, Warwickshire in 1972, they made catchy, jazzy glam-rock hit singles like "Angel Fingers" and "See My Baby Jive" with a retro, Phil Spector-style "wall of sound" production. At the same time, they produced decidedly odd, almost avant-garde albums like Wizzard Brew. They remained active until around 1975.
(2) One of them is a 'blackened' heavy metal band from Finland. It enjoyed some success in Finland and Germany though even some fans wondered why they had taken the name of Roy Wood's famous band – the other z was actually added because the band didn't want to be confused with the German band Wizard. The band was founded by Teemu Kautonen as his solo-project in August 1995, and he handled all the instruments on the first demo, Teemu moved the band to Germany in April 1997 adding new local musicians CY and Daniel to the line-up. In August Teemu returned to Finland, but moved back to Germany in January 2001, and CY and Daniel came along again. Also a new guitarist Johnny joined the band.
Last known lineup:
Teemu Kautonen aka Hexenmeister - Vocals, originally also Bass & Guitars
CY aka Grobi - Drums
Daniel - Lead Guitars, Bass
Johnny - Rhythm Guitars

I was born
A harbinger of Metal and steel
To this world
These nights my star is shining
High above the city lights
For me it's Metal or nothing
Metal is my life
I've got all I need
A Metal heart and balls of steel
Soul of a devil - wild and free I've grown
Soul of a devil - my instincts lead me wherever I go
Soul of a devil - there ain't no rules I'd have to obey
Soul of a devil - the Metal Law the only way
I've been to Hell and back
I've sat on Satan's throne
Baptised in fire and steel
I've sworn the oath
Forever to play my Metal
Not to care what the people say
The heavier and louder the better
Staying true to myself I can never fail
I've got the soul of a devil
The lyrics of Wizzard's song "Soul Of A Devil" depict the story of a person who is born under the sign of evil and considers themselves a harbinger of metal and steel. The singer of the song has a star that shines high above the city lights, indicating their rising popularity and success in the metal music genre. The persona of the song states that Metal is their life and they will not accept anything less. They have everything they need, including a Metal heart and balls of steel.
The chorus of the song goes on to describe the soul of the devil who is wild and free, and how the character has grown with this soul. The Metal Law is the only way for them and they don't feel the need to abide by any other rules. The devil’s instincts always direct them wherever they go, and they have been to hell and back. The challenge culminates when the singer of the song swears an oath to forever play their Metal without any regard for people's opinions. To the singer, staying true to themselves is the only way to avoid failure.
The lyrics of "Soul Of A Devil" are a testament to the power of metal music and the impact that it has on the lives of those who choose to pursue it. It is a song about following your passions and staying true to yourself, even in the face of adversity. The soul of a devil is portrayed in a positive light in this song, as it is associated with freedom, passion, and fearlessness.
