Family First
Woe Is Me Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Just do your best, forget the rest, you're stronger than you know;
So let it all go.
Don't dwell on all the things that you can't change,
'Cause we are stronger, oh, we're so much stronger than we know.
One by one you gave up hope and you prayed to God that I would choke,
But I paid no mind to your attack because empty words can never hold me back.
Every dream begins with a dreamer,
We have a hope we must defend.
No matter what, we'll come out swinging,
We haven't reached the end.
Every dream begins with a dreamer,
We have a hope we must defend.
No matter what, we'll come out swinging,
We haven't reached the end.
Just know you're not alone, we'll always be your home.
So never give up hope and know you're not alone;
And you don't have to face this on your own
We said that we would live forever-
Well you laughed instead, you said we're dead.
So get this through your head,
I've got one more left.
You better be ready to bring us your worst,
This army is our family, oh, this is our family, and family comes first.
Every dream begins with a dreamer,
We have a hope we must defend.
No matter what, we'll come out swinging.
We haven't reached the end.
Every dream begins with a dreamer,
We have a hope we must defend.
No matter what, we'll come out swinging.
We haven't reached the end.
The lyrics of "Family First" by Woe Is Me emphasize the importance of family and support when faced with difficult circumstances. The song encourages the listener not to give up hope and to keep pushing forward, even in the face of adversity. The first verse reminds the listener that they are not alone and that they do not have to face their struggles alone. The song emphasizes that it is important to let go of things that cannot be changed and focus on things that can be improved upon.
The second verse appears to be directed towards someone specific who wished for the songwriter's demise. However, the songwriter paid no attention to their negativity and continued to move forward. The chorus repeats the theme of resilience and not giving up, reiterating that every dream begins with a dreamer who must defend their hope. The song ends with a statement of unity and support, reminding the listener that they are part of a family that comes first.
Overall, "Family First" promotes the importance of a supportive community and one's ability to weather challenges and come out stronger in the end.

i honestly dont even care if i get made fun of for this, but this song was the only thing i had for the darkest time of my life. i don't care how "bad" or how "lame" or how "generic" it is, what matters is that it changed a life - my life. I was ready to give up on everything and i remembered this song, and i listened to it non-stop for 5 months straight, and it's one of the reasons i'm still standing. this band changed my life, and i'm glad they made this album because it was one of the best fucking things that ever happened to me.

The best song on the album, this album had some generic tracks but this was not one of them.
