@*****  Actually they do not. Requiem is sang in Latin, being the Catholic mass for the dead, and what they sing is:
"Lux aeterna luceat eis, Domine,
cum sanctis tuis in aeternum,
quia pius es.
Requiem aeternum dona eis, Domine,
et Lux perpetua luceat eis,
cum Sanctus tuis in aeternum,
quia pius es."
Which translates to English as:
"Let eternal light shine on them, Lord,
as with Your saints in eternity,
because You are merciful.
Grant them eternal rest, Lord,
and let perpetual light shine on them,
as with Your saints in eternity,
because You are merciful."

Communio is certainly the most magnificent and incredible part of Mozart's Requiem... It still blows my mind and brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it...

i disagree, although im not completely sure and the sources are not certain either, but ive read that before Mozart died it was already his plan to use the Introitus and Kyrie for the Communio as well. But we will never know his intentions, his last writings were on the first incomplete part of the Domine.

+Gustav Ramirez It's just a repeat of the Introitus and Kyrie, which I believe are more powerful because that's where Mozart intended the music to be. I think Sussmayr was lost and so overwhelmed that he opted to reuse Mozart's music, which wasn't a bad idea, but it's probably not what Mozart would've done.
