Other composers: I'm sad and depressed :(
Their pieces: Oh, so sad!

Mozart: Challenge accepted, I will unfollow this trend of making songs what you feel like

Mozart: Ohhh I'm so depressed
This: first part is like: I'm so happy! :)
Mozart: Actually, I'm sad
Me: I do not understand

Mozart’s music is God who has come down to us from heaven. This sonata is beautiful, like all the works of the great composer.

When he died,
Only his physical appearance was taken away.
They said that he could not be identified,
And the body was buried in a common grave.
But we prefer to believe
That he was never buried
Because he never died.

Mozart. Piano Sonata No. 8, 1st Mvt. Imagine a 22-year old Mozart who has just moved to Paris, having severed ties with his father, and is struggling to make a living on his own. On top of this, his mother is dying. During this period, he writes the darkest of his sonatas - the only one that, up until this point, he has written in a minor key. While we don't have anything in Mozart's own words about the relationship between the sonata and his personal life, we can speculate that it is an outlet for the anger, grief, desperation, sadness and love he feels towards his mother. Losing both of his parents, Mozart's music takes the first steps of its departure from the musical world of his childhood, with uncharacteristic uses of tonality, tempo, rhythm, dynamic emphases and counterpoint. Hope you enjoy this beautiful performance by M Kumar, and hope your Thursday will be an excellent one ♥

Topher TheTenth Guou, thank you

Topher TheTenth

@Raquel Glissando The joke is that Chopin doesn't have anything to say about when he's depressed because he's always depressed. For him, there's no such thing as not being depressed, and so in some philosophies that require an actual other state (as opposed to the mere logical possibility of another state) that also means he's never depressed, since he's always depressed. Think of your eyes coming indoors and instantly factoring out the yellow of tungsten light-bulbs if you still have them. If everything is yellower, then nothing is yellower. It's all comparative.
