Haus
Wolfgun Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

In a dark room with darkened doors, I call out, I call out
Barely walked halls tell stories now; ooh, I'll listen
What memories have we begotten?
Begotten, begotten, begotten...
Let our honored grieve as we bleed water, we bleed water

Take me to your house, where the music's loud, and everyone's insane
We'll figure somethin' out; just you and me, so we can run away
Take me to your house; it's a chain reaction, of love and all it means
And I can work it out, 'cause I really want to know a little more about you

Take a deep breath; speak a final whisper; I'm sorry, I'm not sorry
With a dim light, the smell of fire; ooh, don't worry
Set a warning sign to all who pass it
Pass it, pass it, pass it...
Let it fall down, spit on the ashes, spit on the ashes

Take me to your house, where the music's loud, and everyone's insane
We'll figure somethin' out; just you and me, so we can run away
Take me to your house; it's a chain reaction, of love and all it means
And I can work it out, 'cause I really want to know a little more about you

Take me to your house, house, house...
Take me to your house, house, house...
Take me to your house, house, house...

Take me to your house, house, house...
Take me to your house, house, house...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Wolfgun's song "Haus" describe the desire to escape from reality and find refuge in someone else's home, where the music is loud and everyone is free to be themselves. The singer seems to be addressing this plea to someone they feel close to, someone whose house represents a safe haven where they can forget about their worries and fears. The dark room with darkened doors may symbolize the singer's own inner turmoil, which they hope to purge by reaching out to their friend. The image of barely walked halls that tell stories now suggests that the house has a history, a past that the singer wants to explore and absorb. By listening to the memories that have been begotten, the singer hopes to glean some wisdom or insight that might help them make sense of their own predicament.

The second verse of the song deepens the sense of urgency and desperation, as the singer asks to be taken to the house where they can figure something out with their friend. The chain reaction of love and all it means may refer to a contagious feeling of connection and mutual purpose that the two share. The repeated phrase "take me to your house" suggests both a physical and emotional translation: the singer yearns to be physically transported to a new location, but also to enter a different state of mind where they can be vulnerable and open to their friend. The final lines of the song seem to suggest a destructive impulse, as the singer urges their friend to spit on the ashes of whatever has been left behind. This could either be read as a liberating act of catharsis, or as a nihilistic rejection of the past.

my gf's little brother just told me this is his favorite band so I figured I'd give it a go. I like it. "and everyone's insane". good clear lyrics and a great beat. I'm suprised this isn't more popular. probably because the music industry has been monopolized and you don't get in by having good music.
