Wolfmother Lyrics

Thinking about yesterday
I recognized what you said
I think I heard you say
I saw you flying, flying
So high in the sky
I need to contemplate
I was standing on the edge of the mountain
Thinking about yesterday
I thought I heard somebody saying, just what you said
I saw you flying so high in the sky
I need to contemplate
Whoa, Heavy weight (repeat)
Solo
I need to contemplate
Whoa, Heavy weight (repeat)
The lyrics of Wolfmother's song Heavy Weight talk about the contemplation and reflection of the singer as he stands on the edge of a mountain. The singer is lost in thought as he remembers something from the past, and he recognizes the wisdom in what someone else had said. The lyrics suggest that the singer witnessed someone flying, possibly like a bird soaring high in the sky. The image of flying seems to evoke a feeling of weightlessness and freedom, which may be in contrast to the heavy weight that the singer feels.
The phrase "heavy weight" is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the burden that the singer is carrying. It is unclear what exactly this weight is referring to, but it could be a metaphor for emotional baggage or a life challenge. The singer acknowledges that he needs to contemplate this weight, suggesting that he may be trying to work through his problems and find a way to move forward.
The solo in the middle of the song provides a moment of reflection and meditation, giving the listener a chance to slow down and think deeply about the themes explored in the lyrics. Overall, the song seems to capture the struggle of dealing with emotional weight and the need for contemplation as a way to move forward.
