Mind
Wolfmother Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When the time is right and the night is bright,
We will see the things we've come to find,
I've been searching for just a little more,
Though the days girl just slip away,
And the red sunset that we just met,
I can see forever,

Come and see the mind's eye,
We can find it if we try,
Come and see the mind's eye,
Transfixed upon the why,
Come and see the mind's eye,
We can find it if we try,

Well they say it's right if it feels alright,
When your love burn up in the mire,
So I burnt a fire for a lost desire,
See it burning higher,

Come and see the mind's eye,
We can find it if we try,
Come and see the mind's eye,
Transfixed upon the why,
Come and see the mind's eye,
We can find it if we try,

Come and see the mind's eye,
We can find it if we try,
Come and see the mind's eye,
Transfixed upon the why,

The mind's eye,
Right now,

Come and see the mind's eye,
We can find it if we try,

Come and see the mind's eye,
We can find it if we try,

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Wolfmother's "Mind's Eye" convey a sense of searching for something more in life. The opening lines "When the time is right and the night is bright, we will see the things we've come to find" suggest a longing for clarity and understanding that eludes us during the hustle and bustle of daily life. The singer continues, "I've been searching for just a little more, though the days girl just slip away," underscoring a sentiment that many can relate to - the feeling that life is short and there is more to experience and discover.

The chorus urges the listener to "come and see the mind's eye," to uncover something deeper and more profound. The repetition of this phrase underscores a sense of urgency and importance in the quest for understanding. The line "transfixed upon the why" suggests an emphasis on understanding the reasons behind our experiences, actions, and choices. The final repetition of the chorus, "We can find it if we try," reinforces the idea that discovery requires effort and intentionality.

Overall, "Mind's Eye" is a song that speaks to the human desire for meaning and purpose. It encourages listeners to seek out a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them, and to approach this quest with intention and determination.

Amazing record! Ive never heard a keyboardist be so present in a 3 peice rock act. What a talent. They sure lost their soul when they lost the orginal line up. Bless you guys and the self-titled album an Australian classic. Any album after, unfortunately not the same story.

truly was amazing, I wish they never broke up, but "differences in musical ideals" is a bad one

Love how they paid tribute to Pink Floyd's concert film Live at Pompeii with this video. The song itself is a damn good tune. I own the 2 albums Wolfmother has released (their self-titled debut and their second album Cosmic Egg), and they are 2 of the best albums I've heard from a 21st century music artist.

JZA the Jenius

Still the best track they ever done.
