New Crown
Wolfmother Lyrics

Took her love and went inside
Hey mister can you tell me something
Can you tell me where to reside
Can you tell me where to find this new crown
Then a time came to pass
All things known to all
Kingdom come and kingdom fall
Can you tell me where to find this new crown
Her Majesty is inside
Where nobody else could ever hide
It's up to you to decide
Change is coming with the tide
Can you tell me where to find this new crown
Crown, where can it be found
Crown, where can it be found
I see your crown, where can it be found
The lyrics to Wolfmother's song New Crown convey a sense of wanderlust and a search for meaning that leads to an eventual realization of one's own power and potential. The opening lines, "Jumped up and went for a ride, Took her love and went inside," suggest an impulsive decision to leave one's current situation behind and embark on a new adventure, perhaps with the help of a loved one. The singer then asks a stranger for guidance, seeking a place "to reside" and also "to find this new crown." This crown can be interpreted as a symbol of power or authority, something the singer is searching for.
In the next verse, the singer proclaims that they have finally found a place where they belong, a place where "all things [are] known to all." This suggests a sense of comfort and familiarity, as if they have discovered a home. However, the line "Kingdom come and kingdom fall" acknowledges that nothing is permanent and change is inevitable. The chorus then repeats the question of where to find the new crown, implying that despite finding a sense of belonging, the singer's search for power or meaning is ongoing.
