Women Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
set towards the sun
fighting words
underneath your tongue
soon we will be laughing
out there on the landing
now its too bright
dancing through the ash
suicide
to pick up on the few
in the dark theres a narrow flame
soon we will be laughing
out there on the landing
now its too bright
dancing through the ash
you made other plans
The lyrics of "Grey Balloons" by Women's Song Group Transport Hall exude an introspective mood that captures the complexities of the human experience. The imagery of grey balloons floating towards the sun creates a sense of fragility and transience, while the fighting words underneath one's tongue express a pent-up frustration and desire for expression. The lyrics suggest a struggle between conflicting emotions, with the promise of laughter and joy juxtaposed against the darkness of suicide and narrow flames. The line "you made other plans" could be interpreted as a reference to a missed opportunity or a path not taken, adding to the sense of regret and longing that pervades the song. Overall, the lyrics of "Grey Balloons" offer a poignant meditation on life's uncertainties and the struggle to navigate them with grace and resilience.
