Poison
Woodes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Spinnin' round
Neat pirouettes
Eyes locked on the constant
Til I forget

Hold it
Deep breath
In and out until there's nothing left

Did I just drink poison?
Is this a trick?
Is your hand on the trigger?
Oh, is this it?

Did I just drink poison?
Is this a trick?
Is your hand on the trigger?
Oh, is this it?

Slowing down,
I placed my bets,
Thought I lost it,
Well, I forget.

Hold it
Deep breath
In and out til there's nothing left

Did I just drink poison?
Is this a trick?
Is your hand on the trigger?
Oh, is this it?

Did I just drink poison?
Is this a trick?
Is your hand on the trigger?
Oh, is this it?

Out of sight,
Look what I made,
I thought about it,
Put it away.

Locked in,
Deep breath,
No excuses,
Got nothing left

Did I just drink poison?
Is this a trick?
Is your hand on the trigger?
Oh, Is this it?

Did I just drink poison?
No more tricks.

My hand's on the trigger.
This is it!

Overall Meaning

In "Poison," Woodes reflects on the feelings of being trapped in a toxic relationship. The lyrics describe the feeling of being spun around and losing oneself, losing a sense of direction while being constantly fixated on the partner. The recurring question "did I just drink poison?" evokes the idea of a poisonous and harmful influence. Along with the question are the doubts about the relationship's validity and whether there is a "trick" involved that would hurt the singer.

The middle verse breaks away from this doubt and talks about the decision to disconnect oneself from the toxic relationship, symbolized by "placing bets" and "putting it away." By the end of the song, Woodes has come to a decision to break free from the relationship, symbolized by the line, "My hand's on the trigger. This is it!" The song captures the confusion, anxiety and doubts that come with being in a toxic relationship, and how the singer reconciles with it.

Jon

Last season this is also a strong deck but it won't be tier 1 because with this deck I die die have to win round 1 and sometimes you can't. When u don't, opp (those who are good players) will bleed you till you commit your combo and then luck will decide round 3.

Man. It seems you have some fun playing this deck ahahahaha Glad to see that man

Jon

The first game, if his magic compass went to get a Gremlist to purify instead of Arnag. Would it make a difference ?

saiyanman

A Kambi should have been the opponent's play

lol

this is legit 150 points swing. If you allow this deck to go for long R3, you might forfeit.

How in second game you use salamader with 5 coins ?

JVMoony

This deck is ridiculous 🦎

Could someone please explain at 29:10 why the coins stayed at 7? Shouldn't it be 4? 4 at start + 3 profit - 3 tribute right? Why did it go up to 7?
Also at 35:44, why did he gain 9 coins while Swindle should give him 6 at best? What am I missing?
Thanks in advance, guys.
