Rewind back to 1983 onwards this classic underated soul funk smooth groove by underated World Premiere Share the Night even in 2018 35yrs on still does the business on the dance floors to me if moves funk it old skool alnight long.

I first heard this in 83 it was a massive hit i used to go skating at Harrisons in skegness the DJ was steve .a notts lad he was well in to soul and funk scene try skating when this is playing. SHARE THE NIGHT. Wicked

I'll tell you something, during the late seventies to mid eighties my elder brother was completely mad on the JF&S of that time so i got to hear all of the classics and them some, to this day that period has and never will be bettered, i was also fortunate to go to the best venues and also Soul Weekenders at that time.... I remember this from late 1983? It was used on Epic Records 'Dance Hits Dance Mix 84' album (UK only) segued between Mtume's 'Prime Time' and The Jones Girls' 'You Can't Have My Love.'

World Premiere's 12 single was promoted more by Greg Edwards on his Saturday evening Capital Radio programme at the time but not sure if it made Robbie Vincent's playlist on Radio London. Certainly I heard it at Flicks in Dartford but it was given a wide berth by Chris Hill at The Goldmine!

I like the comparison with Sunfire and agree. I also think it has some Skyy (known as New York Skyy in the UK) influence as well. But I can also hear a softer take on The Jammers 'Be Mine Tonight' on the World Premiere track.

Tanya Kelly ..TNT SKY-PAC worked there fall '84 30th between Madison & Park ave south..anything over 10 blocks Spanish dispatcher (Manny) gave you tokens for subway (I use to keep it and walk. .) he mentioned member of world premiere working there. .lots of fun in city back then
