After The Fact
Worldview Lyrics

We never said you can't hold a tune
May we suggest your memory's confused?
After the fact
After the fact
We never said the sound isn't right
We never said they don't play in timeIt's evident the whole thing's sublime
After the fact
After the fact
And no one shows
What everybody knows
That nobody knows anything
Yeah no one shows
What everybody knows
That nobody knows anything
And though we're sure your voice is unique
We've got to turn out more like you quick
Because the public's called you a hit
And no one shows
What everybody knows
That nobody knows anything
No no one shows
The truth that Goldman wrote
It's no real mystery
An open secret
The role of contingency
In who achieves it
But captains of industryWill sing your praises
And claim it was clear to see
Now that you've made it
Congratulations!
Congratulate them!
We were much too slow to respond
When technology moved along
Saw our produce go for a song
Those are the facts
Those are the facts
We need you to come out and bat
You can put us back in the black
You're too huge to fail and that's that
And no one shows
What everyone should know
That no one controls anything
And no one shows
What everyone must know
That no one foretold anything
It goes to show
The truth that Goldman wrote
That nobody knows anything
I've come to know
It's just like Goldman wrote
That nobody knows anything
The lyrics to Worldview's song "After The Fact" explore themes of perception, manipulation, and the power dynamics within the music industry. The song begins by addressing misunderstandings and confusion, suggesting that the singer never claimed to provide certain things or be responsible for certain outcomes. It highlights the idea that memory can be faulty and perceptions can be manipulated.
The lyrics then shift to the concept of artistic integrity and the pressures to conform to popular trends. The singer acknowledges the uniqueness of someone's voice but also implies the need to replicate success quickly. They mention the public's reception of this individual as a hit, indicating the control and influence the industry has over artists' careers.
The song continues by questioning the notion of knowledge and truth. It suggests that despite what is widely known, nobody truly knows anything. The reference to Goldman's truth alludes to the philosopher's "open secret" idea, where some truths are evident but go unacknowledged or unrecognized by those in power.
The final verses touch upon the consequences of being slow to adapt to changing times and technology, which resulted in their produce or music selling for a low price. The singer implores the listener to help them recover financially, emphasizing their dependence on this individual's success. The song concludes by reiterating the idea that nobody controls anything and that the future is unpredictable, just as Goldman wrote.
Overall, "After The Fact" challenges the notion of absolute knowledge and truth, explores the manipulation and pressures within the music industry, and highlights the role of contingency in achieving success.

Dr. McDowell,
I love your ministry very much. I'm 13 and I ask you to please continue this for the sake of teenagers and young people like me.
I was wondering if you could you please create a video defending Christian sexual ethics. I've been struggling with a lot of people saying that Christian sexual ethics is about a bunch of prudes trying to make people suppress their sexuality. I've been struggling with p*rn, and my whole Christian worldview. I have lots of questions. I know God is real and the Bible is true. But I have other questions concerning culture. Are Christians bigots when they reject LGBTQ ideology?
Are we prudes when we say wait for marriage?
Thank you for your work.

We know trees exist. We know tree size varies from one species to the next. Proclaiming the existence of giant trees ,that on the surface appear unbelievable, are not outside the framework of a worldview that accept the existence of trees to begin with.
Now, how about the existence of a tree of knowledge of good and evil…..how does that factor in to the equation here? Should we just accept that it existed, or should we reserve judgement given the lack of evidence for such a tree?
@DruPetty42
All of what you said at the beginning wasn't the point of what Sean said.
As for the second portion, take what you said and apply that to science. Reason being is because even in the field of science there are things that lack evidence.

"Explorers" is a nice way of saying the scouts for settler colonialists. They didn't come to just "explore". They came to probe, conquer and exploit.
