Bliss
Wrinkled Fred Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sympathy for those who suffer
Gotta pay, gotta pay
For our needy brothers
Just a little coin
Don't try to be "tight-fisted"
The poor need your help
Tell me liers
Who gives a fuck?
Tell me who of you
Cares about the poor?
Tents and sleeping bags
Homeless also've got their rights
Someone's got to help
Our funds shrink but nevermind
Everyone has got to know
Hierarchy of importance
Boss' penthouse's first
Second's shelter for the homeless
Tell me liers who of you gives a fuck about the poor
Tell me liers who gives...
The lyrics of Wrinkled Fred's song "Bliss" deal with the theme of social responsibility and the importance of helping those in need. Fred ponders the selfishness of people who prioritize material possessions and wealth over the well-being of others, with poignant lyrics like "Boss' penthouse's first, Second's shelter for the homeless." He advocates for giving to those who suffer, expressing sympathy for their plight, and encourages those who have the means to help to be generous in their giving.
Fred calls out those who would claim to care about the poor, but their actions do not match up with their words. He challenges them, asking "Tell me liers, who gives a fuck?" and "Tell me liers who of you gives a fuck about the poor?" He points out that even a small contribution can make a difference in someone's life, so people should not be stingy when it comes to giving. In the end, Fred's message is clear - a society that cares for its most vulnerable citizens is truly rich, while one that neglects them is poor in every sense of the word.
