Writing The Future has since its start in 2013 released one album and three EPs on their own, alongside executing several tours supporting, for example, Her Bright Skies, Corroded, and Lillasyster as well as performing at some of Sweden’s biggest festivals. Not only that, but the band has also been mentioned as “Best Metalcore-band” two years in a row by Close Up Magazine.
In 2020 Writing The Future teamed up with GAIN/Fifth Island Music for their second album where the emphasis lies in their pride to stand up for themselves and fight for the mutual goals between them and their fans and followers. If you ever been bullied, abused or depressed, or if you have opinions on religion, climate or world health, you can expect to relate to the band’s well-written and meaningful lyrics.
Three singles from the album has been released so far, ‘Jaded Eyes feat. Xerzie)‘, ‘As Above So Below‘, and ‘Broken Heart‘.
On October 21st Writing The Future is set to release their next single titled ‘Death Is The Only Way Out‘. Continuing to expand on their patented sound and concept, the song is a clever and sharp criticism on the existing gaps and class differences in today’s society. The single will also be accompanied by a premium music video recorded and directed by the band themselves.

People know me as satan but I am actually hell
People are non believers in the stories they tell
Satan smiles in his bed as I rock him to sleep
He is the most loyal of all in my heard of sheeps
I Walk in the shades of undisputed demons in pain
If there is a heaven we are all as below
The sky is your freedom
And your god he will bow
In a battle between all what's right what is wrong
As above so below here is where you belong
From cradle to engrave your soul is my slave
I force you to listen and I force you to stay
You are trapped in a felon where I dig your grave
You're soul is my boundary and I could take you away
I cant control myself
I'm burning to ashes iam living in hell
The deamon in story's everybody tells
The silent the spooken the victim the murder I am all
I will always surrvive
After every battle I will be alive
The leader I will stand
With you humans under your world will fall.
If there is a heaven we are all as below
The sky is your freedom
And your god he will bow
In a battle between all what's true what is wrong
As above so below here is where you belong
If there is a heaven we are all as below
The sky is your freedom
And your god he will bow
In a battle between all what's true what is wrong
As above so below here is where you belong
The lyrics of Writing the Future's song "As Above So Below" are filled with dark imagery that portrays the idea of heaven and hell, good and evil, and the struggle between them. The song features a narrator who is assumed to be Satan, referring to himself as "hell." He acknowledges the fact that people know him by his infamous reputation, but at his core, he is just a part of hell. He also speaks of people not believing in their own stories, implying that they are in denial of their own selves. The song also depicts Satan rocking a sheep to sleep, which is metaphorical for his control over people's lives.
The song further details the singer's association with the demons in pain and flames. He remarks that if there is a heaven, it is not for him, and everyone else is "as below." The portrayal of the singer as a controlling and manipulative figure is further emphasized when he says that he forces souls to listen and stay. The lyrics portray him as a grim reaper, who traps people in their own hell with no escape.
Furthermore, the song touches upon the theme of survival, as the singer speaks of how he is "burning to ashes" yet still standing. The song's chorus reiterates the fact that heaven and hell are both in the same place, and the sky is freedom, but God will bow to Satan's power. As the song concludes, the singer reaffirms his power and control over humanity, implying that everyone will inevitably fall to him.
