These Chinese men were from the district of Chinatown with a unique and interesting vibe

They were trapping them up
They were using trapping techniques to gain the upper hand on their opponents

They were trapping them down
They were also using trapping techniques to control their opponents and pin them down

It's an ancient Chinese art
Kung Fu is an old and traditional Chinese martial art

And everybody knew their part
Everyone involved in the fighting knew their specific role and what they had to do

For my friend ain't you a stiff
If you're not moving and fighting like a pro, you're going to lose in this competition

Then I'm kicking from the hip
The person will use powerful kicks from their hip to defeat the opponent

There was funky Billie Jim and little Sammy John
Other unique characters were involved in this Kung Fu fight, such as Billie Jim and Sammy John

He said here comes the big boss let's get it on
Someone announced the arrival of the big boss and urged the others to start fighting

We took the bow and made a stand
The fighters took a bow before commencing the fight, showing respect to the opponent and the competition

Started swaying with the hand
The fighters began to move their hands in a rhythmical manner, perhaps to intimidate the opponent or hype themselves up

A sudden motion made me stiff
A sudden move from the opponent caught the fighter off guard and made them feel stiff and immobile

Now we're into a brandnew trip
The sudden change in the dynamics of the fight led to a new and different experience for the fighters
