Flashlight
X. J. Kennedy Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When tomorrow comes
I'll be on my own
Feeling frightened of
The things that I don't know
When tomorrow comes
Tomorrow comes
Tomorrow comes
And though the road is long
I look up to the sky
And in the dark I found,
I lost hope that I won't fly
And I sing along, I sing along
And I sing along

I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me, and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Kick start my heart when you shine it in my eyes
Can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
'Cause you're my flashlight (flashlight)
You're my flashlight (flashlight)
You're my flashlight

I see the shadows long beneath the mountain top
I'm not afraid when the rain won't stop
'Cause you light the way
You light the way, you light the way

I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me, and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Kick start my heart when you shine it in my eyes
I can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
(Light light light you're my flashlight, light, light)
Light light you're my flashlight
Light light light light light, oh
(Light light light you're my flashlight, light, light)
You're my flash, oh

I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me, and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Can't stop my heart when you shinin' in my eyes
I can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
(You're my flashlight)
You're getting me, getting me through the night
'Cause you're my flashlight
'Cause you're my flashlight
You're my flashlight

You're my flashlight
Light light
You're my flashlight
Light light ye-yeah

You're my flashlight

If you broke just say that they aren’t that bad especially if you trade in which most people do

Can you afford $100 a week? Then you aren't broke enough to get a snap-on.

Biggest mistake I ever did was buy a snap on box

She has a strap-on box

Same. I bought a 10 drawer double bank 54” box a couple years ago, paid $9000 for it and it doesn’t have a power drawer, the lock and roll drawer locks on the underside of the pull handles are made of cheap plastic and 2 of them broke when someone yanked the drawer open because they didn’t know you have to slide it to open. They don’t hold the drawers closed when they are loaded and your box is at a slight angle leaning towards the front. You can open a drawer and the one below it will open on its own usually. Replacements for those are cheap but still, if I’m paying too dollar I want top quality material. Still waiting on my touch up paint. I’m very upset at my dealer though because a week after I purchased the box he had a 72” 12 drawer with a power drawer and speedrawer triple bank on the truck marked half off for a very very minor scratch that you couldn’t see unless you looked for it right on the top side edge of the right hand side which the rubber matt that came with the box covered plus he had the touch up paint for it. $16,000 box priced at $7600 and he wouldn’t trade my box in for it. Literally 7 days after I purchased mine for $9000. I quit buying from him after that one.

You should be proud, you have made very good choices throughout your life. The box has excellent resale value, chances are you can sell it and only lose a couple thousand. That’s a small loss, I once lost a $148,000 house.

Agreed, tools and toolboxes are a drug, I'm off it now 25k later.
