XIA Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Take my hand
You know I'm here with you
Say my name
'Cause lies can't kill the truth
타들어가고 있어
거짓 안에 숨겨왔던 진실들을
숨을 죽이고 있어
작은 입술 위에 깨진 많은 꿈들
Nobody can help me
썩어버린
기억 저 편위에 나를 꺼내줘
Come take my hand
Come take my hand
말라버린 내 심장을 적셔줘
Come take my hand
Till the end
다시 널 위해 살아갈 수 있게
Please take my
무참히 밟혀진 꽃
Looks like love is pain
꺾인 날개처럼
날 구속하는 수많은 그 상처
파고드는 슬픈 가시 같아
Come take my hand
Come take my hand
말라버린 내 심장을 적셔줘
Come take my hand
Till the end
다시 널 위해 살아갈 수 있게
Please take my hand
It's all right
Take my hand
이 잘난 세상엔
실수조차 큰 죄가 돼
Don't cry
또 다시 세간의 화제가 된
넌 재가 되고
다 살점 하나 떼 가네
Your life your soul your world
They cannot kill it
날 봐 죽고 다시 눈 떠
I killed it
I tell you it's okay
작은 빛이라도
어둠이 삼키지는 못해
Come take my hand
Just take my hand
Come take my hand
Uh uh uh
말라버린 내 심장을 적셔줘
Come take my hand
Take my hand
Till the end

Till the end
다시 널 위해 살아갈 수 있게

Overall Meaning

The song "꽃" by Xia feat. Tablo of Epik High is a poignant reflection on the pain and struggle of life. The lyrics suggest that the truth has been buried in lies, and one is suffocating under the weight of broken dreams and memories. The singer is calling out to someone to take their hand and save their dried-up heart. The song evokes a sense of intense longing for someone to help them escape the prison of their mind.

The chorus of "Come take my hand" is a plea for someone to come and guide them out of the darkness. The repetition of this line emphasizes the desperation that the singer feels. The metaphor of a flower that has been trampled and broken is used to describe the singer's state. They feel like their wings have been broken and their wounds are like thorns that keep digging deeper. The singer is overwhelmed by the sheer amount of pain and trauma they have experienced, and they are powerless to overcome it alone.

Overall, "꽃" is a song that delves deeply into the human experience of pain, loss, and suffering. The lyrics are a testament to the fact that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for healing and growth.

A lot of people think this song is related to Junsu's own life and the SM company and I agree this time, not because every sad song of his has to do with SM, but the MV and lyrics together actually make me think of that. Ok here's my interpretation upon watching this MV for several times.  I believe that the ‘king-Junsu’ who sits on the throne represents SM (or SM's leaders) with great power and superior status. He’s surrounded by dancers (0:57) wearing fancy stage outfits who may represent the current idols in SM.

The savage-looking group of men represent the former idols who have been banished from SM (the all-mighty dream-fulfilling temple viewed by the naive public). They, including the JYJ members, were viewed by the public as the ‘wrong’ ‘guilty’ ones, the ungrateful traitors. SM forced ugly masks on them and sealed their mouths 0:37, silencing them while making up lies to ruin their reputation, ruin their lives.
And just before they leave, they throw the gold robot head on the ground 0:46. This head may represent Junsu’s past life as an SM idol who appears to be covered by fame and fortune (gold) but inside is more like a machine/robot. Now this machine is broken, this idol life is destroyed and gone. At 1:16, the gold head on the ground shakes its mouth while the song goes "all the dreams are crashed between the lips" (sorry if my translation’s not spot-on). An angry masked man shouts something to the king while the lyric goes “lies can’t kill the truth” 0:52.

After this big amount of symbolism at the beginning, Junsu sings “take me out from those rotten memories” 1:22, again meaning that the first part is a recall of his past history with SM.
Then there goes this interesting little girl (1:55) who, I think, represents truth, goodness and justice. She's looking at ‘king-Junsu’ (SM) and what he's doing but stays silent (for now). King-Junsu stares back at her and tilts his head, not knowing who she is, what she’s thinking or what she’ll do to him, which he will find out one day.

At 2:05, the broken robot head sinks down a pool of liquid and goes into some kind of a factory 2:08 which extracts gold coffee 2:17 from it to be drunk by king-Junsu (SM) . This can relate to how SM not only exploited Junsu and other former idols when they were in the company, but endlessly sue them and do all other kinds of things to extract every last drop of benefit and profit from them, even after their idol lives are already ruined. Meanwhile the song goes ‘the cruelly trampled flower...the countless scars that imprison me…’

The 2:55 part where ‘savage-Junsu’ dances in the dark forest may represent that for a long time, he was exiled from SM and deeply wounded, struggling to recover, to not be judged as the villain, to regain his career and basically to rise above and bloom into a ‘flower’.  The lyrics at 3:28 go “you become the world’s hot topic and turn to ashes, they take every piece of you like meat”, while king-Junsu is eating a dish of raw fish meat (the destroyed Junsu in real life).

The MV’s last part is where the table turns, as Junsu sings “your life your soul your world, they cannot kill it. I died and reborn, I killed it”, etc. These lyrics and the whole song may also be a shout-out to encourage the SM idols (like EXO, SNSD, f(x) and more) who currently face so many hardships.
Junsu becomes a golden warrior at 3:37, as the song goes ‘the darkness swallowed me but now I’m swallowing you’. Then the little girl shows up again 3:41, laughing as king-Junsu falls sick from eating the fish (maybe after he’s eaten too many of them for years and years...) and collapses to the ground. The time has finally come for her to witness truth and justice being restored, and the cruel king being punished.
The black-Junsu at the end is a dark knight who rises from the dead and now has the power to fight the powerful.  I think Junsu is making a statement in this song and video that SM may still be laughing for now, but things are slowly changing these days, and the time will come for truth/justice to bring back the laughter of those, including Junsu, who never give up the fight.

@annadancer4life

So I know there have already been quite a few analysis’s of this music video, but here is what I think the music video is symbolizing.

So in the beginning we see Junsu essentially in a palace, where he appears to be the king, a god if you will. This, I think, is a hint at his past with DBSK. The full name: DongBangShinKi, in traditional Chinese translates to “the rising gods of the east.” At this point a group of masked men come in and throw the severed head of a mechanical skull to the floor, with golden eyes. The way I see it, the group of men could symbolize either one of two things: first, they are the general public that are below him in all his glory, or second, they represent idols past. I am inclined to believe the latter, as I think that the skull represents the “ugly” side of fame that these failed idols furiously throw before him, in their attempt to unveil what goes on “underneath it all.” One achieves, the external beauty (the gold eyes), but underneath one is but a machine, controlled, with the inability to make their own choices.

At this point Junsu’s eyes are still brown. However, after the head is thrown to the floor, a seemingly innocent girl appears off to the left as he examines the severed head. It is only after his encounter with the girl that you see the melting down of the mechanical head and Junsu then consuming the molten remnants. The significance here lies within the little girl. She, I believe, is the representation of SM Entertainment: appearing pleasant and innocent and encouraging him to consume the head, or the “fame,” in order to achieve his dream. At this point we see his eyes change color to the same gold that the skull had. A part of the lyrics I think represent this theory: “you’ve become the world’s hot topic then you turn into ash, then they take away each piece of you, your life, your soul, your world.”

The dystopian scenes I believe are actually a flash forward, but I will explain that momentarily.

We then witness a very zoned out Junsu, about to eat his meal. He appears to snap out of his trance when he sees the deformed fish before him. This represents him realizing the deformity of his current situation, finally comprehending the unbalanced reality of what has happened, and ultimately realizing his mistake to trust this little girl before him. We then see junsu throwing up blue liquid, as the little girl looks on in glee, laughing at his pain. Ultimately, I believe this to be a representation of Junsu’s past with SM entertainment.

Now going back to the dystopian scenes, in which he is dressed in black and his eyes are back to brown. Like I said before, I think this was a flash forward to what became of him after his encounter with the little girl, and after he threw up the blue liquid and appeared to be consumed in flames.

Then finally we see him, in the last scene, mounted on a warped perception of a horse and dressed in what looks like a warriors uniform, appearing to be ready for battle. This I think is a representation of who he is now, his “current form” so to speak, ready to conquer, a flower rising from the ashes (thus the title). Here is the part of the lyrics that make me believe my interpretation to be correct: “Look at me, I’ve died but I opened my eyes again, I killed it. The darkness swallowed me but now I’m swallowing you. Piercing through the storm of snow, a deeply rooted flower blossoms. This is the truth.”

@shoystify

Googled the lyrics.here it goes:

Take my hand
You know I’m here with you
Say my name
Cuz lies can’t kill the truth

It’s burning up
The truths hidden in lies
It’s being silenced
All the dreams broken on the small lips

Nobody can help me
Take me out from the rotten memories

Come take my hand
Come take my hand
Drench my dried up heart

Come take my hand
Till the end
So I can live for you again
Please take my

The cruelly trampled flower
Looks like love is pain
Like broken wings

The countless scars that imprison me
They’re like sad thorns that dig into me

Come take my hand
Come take my hand
Drench my dried up heart

Come take my hand
Till the end
So I can live for you again
Please take my

It’s all right
Take my hand
In this arrogant world, even mistakes become big sins
Don’t cry
You’ve become the world’s hot topic then you turn into ash
Then they take away each piece of you
Your life Your soul Your world
They cannot kill it
Look at me, I’ve died but I opened my eyes again, I killed it
The darkness swallowed me but now I’m swallowing you
Piercing through the storm of snow
A deeply rooted flower blossoms
This is the truth
It may seem like it’s all over
There wasn’t a single door in this world that smothered you
Everyone goes through this
I tell you it’s okay
Even if it’s a small light, the darkness can’t swallow it

Come take my hand (Just take my hand)
Come take my hand (Uh uh uh)
Drench my dried up heart
(Cuz love is pain like a candle in the rain)

Come take my hand (Take My Hand)
Till the end (Till The End)
So I can live for you again

i dont understand why new gen groups don't take risks in their concept like this anymore. Nowadays they're more about labels like "cute" concept or "sexy" concept. No one is putting in effort towards creating iconic, avant-garde concepts like this anymore. Junsu's makeup, dancing, the entire concept of the video was so ahead of its time compared to what artists today are making. The only person I can think of who's constantly pushing boundaries is Taemin.

@andreasalbert6821

tbh "XIA JUNSU - FLOWER" is so similar to "SISTAR - BAD GUY"
and both JUNSU and SISTAR are legends

@zsaojii

That's because most of them don't have a say in their concept, it's all decided, just as when Junsu was in dbsk.

@nurafifahshuhardi8240

Go and listen mamamoo new song

@tienthanhvu5838

You are wrong, BTS actually took a lot of risk. I don't care if you like them or not, i personally don't but i can't deny their works and creativity as well as the risk they take

@joosclues

BTS and Monsta X
