Raised in a musical family, Paige fell in love with singing and writing her own lyrics at the influential age of 13. By the time she was 18, she had honed these skills and was collaborating with her older brother, Chase Duddy. In 2016, XYLØ released their debut EP, embarked on national tours, performed at countless festivals, accumulated millions of streams and earned a platinum plaque for their collaboration with The Chainsmokers on the song, “Setting Fires” (by The Chainsmokers featuring XYLØ). After the release of their successful single “I Still Wait For You” in 2017, XYLØ evolved into a whole new musical artist. Having grown up behind the mic, Paige found her own powerful voice; one that currently resonates worldwide - both sonically and lyrically. She and her brother mutually parted ways, allowing her to shine and him to pursue his own endeavors.
2018 is a new chapter for XYLØ and an emergence for Paige as a solo artist. “I’ve spent the last 9 months discovering myself as a young woman and as a singer/musician - with all the ups and downs that brings. The new music is about what I’ve gone through during this time, from living on my own for the first time, to facing the changing relationships in my life."
Four EPs named pretty sad (2019), yes & no (2019), The Ganglands of My Heart (2020) and OUTSIDERS CLUB (2020) self-released by XYLØ under Pretty Records. The title track from "yes & no" is her most successful single on Spotify as an independent artist to date, with almost 15 million streams.

If one day I hate it, then the next I'll probably like it
Do I feel like being alone or with all of my friends?
Fuck, I don't know if I should say or if I should go (huh)
I don't have the answers you need
'Cause I live in the in-between
So if you put your bets on me
'Cause I'm like yes and no
Wait, I don't know
I think I'm dying
Hold up, I'm invincible
Yeah, I'm like yes (yes) and no (no)
Wait, I don't know
I'll pull you closer into to me
And I'm pushing you away
'Cause I'm like yes and no
Wait, I don't know (kn-kn-know)
I think I'm dying
Hold up, I'm invincible (ether)
Yeah, I'm like yes (yes) and no (no)
Wait, I don't know
I'll pull you closer into me
And I'm pushing you away
Don't know if I'm feeling happy (no)
Im kinda confused, I'm not in the mood to try and fix me (uh)
Do I feel like being alone or with all of my friends?
Fuck, I don't know (Fuck I don't no)
If I should say or if I should go (huh)
I don't have the answers you need
'Cause I live in the in-between, ha-ha
'Cause I'm like yes and no
Wait, I don't know
I think I'm dying
Hold up, I'm invincible
Yeah, I'm like yes (yes) and no (no)
Wait, I don't know
I'll pull you closer into to me
And I'm pushing you away
'Cause I'm like yes and no
Wait, I don't know (kn-kn-know)
I think I'm dying
Hold up, I'm invincible (ether)

Wait, I don't know
I'll pull you closer into me

The lyrics of XYLØ's "yes & no" are about the singer's internal struggle with indecisiveness and uncertainty. The first verse describes how the singer's mood and preferences can fluctuate rapidly, leaving her with conflicting desires and no clear path forward. She admits that she doesn't have all the answers and that she lives "in the in-between", unable to commit fully in any one direction. The chorus repeats the theme of indecisiveness, with the singer oscillating between "yes and no" and unsure of where she stands. She both pulls people closer to her and pushes them away, reflecting the ambivalence that characterizes her emotional state.
The second verse continues this theme, describing the singer's confusion and her inability to know what she wants. The refrain once again emphasizes the ambivalence between "yes and no", as the singer struggles to make a decision. The song ends with the ominous words "I think I'm dying, hold up I'm invincible", which can be interpreted as a metaphor for the ups and downs of the singer's emotional life.
Overall, XYLØ's "yes & no" is a powerful exploration of the difficulties of living with indecisiveness and uncertainty. The lyrics are relatable to anyone who has struggled with conflicting desires or felt lost in their own emotional landscape.
