Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Xeno & Oaklander's song Angélique describe a collection of wild flowers, each named in groups of two. We hear the names of Angélique, Anthémis, Ancolie, Narcisse, Alisson, Aloès, Anémone, Belladone, Mauves Musquées, Négligées, Ibéris, and Lis Orangé mentioned throughout the song. The lyrics paint a picture of these flowers being abandoned in the wild, but brought together in beautiful improvisational arrangements.

The repetition of the name Angélique throughout the song suggests that it is not just a flower, but a symbolic figurehead in this floral gathering. As the Queen of the Meadows, Angélique represents a sense of authority over the other flowers, elevating them to a higher level of importance. The use of French reinforces the sense of elegance and sophistication within the lyrics, emphasizing the beauty and delicacy of these wildflowers.

Overall, the lyrics of Angélique create a nostalgic and romanticized image of wildflowers and their natural beauty. They also suggest the power of collaboration and improvisation, as the individual flowers come together to form something even more beautiful.

It's incredible to see them play live. It takes them a really long time to set up . They use 4 SH101's to create their signature sound. They're so committed to their analog only style, I don't know of any contemporary groups that hardcore. But it's not just a gimmick because they really make beautiful music. I think they just want to push the limits of such old equipment.

@kimbojones3908

Actually I think they use some of these 101's to control that insane modular synth.

What happens at 2:33 is such a success. Long time electronic music fan and sonically, it's so sophisticated.. the tape wind shouldn't work here, but very much does.

@nikondemo

This is a stunning comeback ! Looking forward to the album's release ❤
