Xzibit released his second album, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz, on August 25, 1998; it peaked at number 53 on the Billboard 200. The album also contained the single "What U See Is What U Get", which peaked at #50 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album's success caught attention from West Coast rapper Dr. Dre who acted as the executive producer on Xzibit's third album, Restless, which was released on December 12, 2000.
Restless debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum in the U.S. The album contained the singles "Front 2 Back", "X", and "Get Your Walk On". His follow-up album Man vs. Machine (2002) also enjoyed success; it debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold. Weapons of Mass Destruction (2004) also became certified gold. After the release of Full Circle in 2006, Xzibit underwent a hiatus, not releasing music until the release of his seventh studio album Napalm on October 9, 2012. Since 2013, he is part of the hip-hop supergroup Serial Killers.
Xzibit has also gained fame as an actor and television host, for his role as Shyne Johnson in the television series Empire, and as the host for the reality television series Pimp My Ride. He has starred in the films Gridiron Gang (2006), The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008), Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009) and Sun Dogs (2017).

Hands on the ball and I won't drop (no)
Half-assed rhymes that you can't watch (no)
It ain't 'cause I want to it's 'cause I got-ta
Get it Crip while the gettin' is good
Before the game is ten percent skill and ninety percent Hollywood
I don't need that, I don't believe that
E'rybody gon' get hurt, if I do dirt
Nah! I'ma evolve continue to change
It take brains, balls and backbones to get it on
And keep it on, we keepin 'it movin', to each his own
So I spit about it, whatever I feel about it
I'm just bein' real about it, X get hot nigga forget about it

In Xzibit's song Multiply, he talks about his dedication to the rap game and how he plans to evolve and continue to change his style to keep it moving. He expresses that he doesn't believe that the game should be 10 percent skill and 90 percent Hollywood, which is what it seems to be, and that he will not let himself or his music be a part of it. The chorus emphasizes his focus on hard work and perseverance, as he and his crew stay on the grind until they die.
Xzibit uses his lyrics to separate himself from other artists in the game, proudly citing his unique style and sound. He suggests that his haters are just imitating him and can never compare to his authentic rap style. However, he doesn't let this get to his head, as he stays humble and grounded in his music.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of urgency and passion, as Xzibit makes it clear that he won't stop until he gets what he wants. He's willing to work hard and make sacrifices to achieve his goals, and he's not afraid to take on anyone who stands in his way. Overall, Multiply is an anthemic, motivational track that encourages listeners to keep pushing and stay true to themselves, no matter what obstacles they may face.
