Yaniss Odua Lyrics

REFRAIN (Bis)
Yaniss Odua's song "Sé Poko Sa" sheds light on the alarming state of insecurity in the streets and neighborhoods of certain places. The lyrics talk about the heartbreak of mothers losing their children to jealousy or artifice. The situation has lingered on for too long, and nobody knows how to make it better. Some people suggest that it can only change through law enforcement, while others prefer to take matters into their own hands. However, the song encourages people to avoid retaliatory acts and not to become entrapped in a vicious circle. It also highlights the plight of those who engage in drug dealing to survive but have little hope for the future.
In the chorus section, the song repeats the phrase "Sé Poko Sa," which means "it's not good." The tone is somber and frustrated as the lyrics describe how the situation evolves from bad to worse every day. The reality portrayed in the song is that people cannot afford to be relaxed because the streets are not safe. The music video depicts various scenes of violence, police brutality, and social unrest.
The song echoes the sentiment of many who have experienced insecurity and violence in their daily lives, and the lyrics offer no easy solutions. Yaniss Odua's powerful voice and poetic lyrics create a sense of urgency and compassion, urging listeners to be strong, vigilant, and supportive of one another in times of hardship.
